The Last Picture Show

I stand to the side leaning against the building. My eyes stare at the cinema that I help destroy. I cross my arms feeling bare skin. I'm wearing a navy green deep V-neck high-low dress. My heels are Apt. 9 Clark high heels.

"You're going to get uncomfortable standing there."

"Fuck off." I tell him.

"Come on, Kat."

I feel his hand rest on my shoulder so I turn to him. "Forsythe... we can't."

"That never stopped you before."

"That's because I didn't expect to see you after the deal was finalized."

"So you planned to up and leave me?"

"I'm a minor! For fucks sake, Forsythe if anyone finds out that we're together you could get killed."

"If your father finds out, you mean. He's locked up, still." I grunt looking away crossing my arms. "What's this really about? My son?"

"I didn't know he worked here."

"He'll be fine."

"You don't know that. He barely speaks to any of us. He just sits in the shadows like-"

"Like you did. Back in New York with your family so you're afraid he's going to lash out and become destructive like you were."

"Why did I tell you?"

"You were venting when you told me. Come here." He pulls me closer.

The heat radiating off his body traps me. Rooting me to my spot and savoring the feeling. How long has it been since I felt this comfortable with someone? I settle my head to his chest sighing.

"Come on. The group wouldn't mind you."

"I could be seen. I should just go find Roni and Kevin."

"No. My trucks here."

"Where?"

"In the far back. Away from others the last I checked. I got a spare blanket and jacket too."

"Did you expect me to be here?"

"I flipped a coin."

I rolled my eyes following him to the back of the concession stand and we walk through the darkness. My hand feeling welcomed in his own. I spot his truck under a lonely tree and no one in sight for now.

I climb onto the bed of his truck taking my heels off and setting them aside. He shows me the jacket and I smile seeing the Southside Serpent logo on the back of it. I slide it o loving the material. It smells just like him.

"Why does this fit me unlike yours?"

"That's your jacket whenever you want it."

"Are you serious?!" I question him surprised.

He cups my cheek looking me in the eyes. "Yes, I am. You're a Serpent always. You're mine and I want you to join. But only when you're ready."

"When I know it's safe."

"So if your father goes to prison or not."

I nod and he rubs my cheek before leaning back. I sigh before following his lead. I settle against his shoulder watching the movie. Halfway into it his phone rings. I glance down seeing Hermione pop-up on the screen. He answers it moving from his spot.
