CHAPTER THREE #TheColdGuy

Estela is my girlfriend  We started as childhood friends at mula noon, kami na ang palaging magkalaro at magkasama hanggang paglaki. We knew each other so well till we became bestfriends. I'm always behind her. I always protect her from everything. Ako ang laging nagpapangiti, nagpapasaya at takbuhan niya kapag may problema siya. Sa halos lahat ng bagay, magkasundo kami, from views in life, to our hobbies, favorites, etc. No wonder, kung palagi kaming tinutukso na mag jowa daw kami but we just tell the people around us na mag bestfriends lang kami till the prom came.

Prom is the most important event in the lives of both junior and senior students in highschool. Ang lahat na kasali sa prom ay pinaghahandaan talaga. Pagandahan at pagwapohan ang mga babae't lalaki. The girls made it sure they would arrive at the prom as the most beautiful among their species and as well as us--the boys, we also made it sure that we will emerge as the most handsome and should act the most gentle ways possible for the girls on the prom night.

I was sad during the prom coz Estela could not make it because she was still out of town.

Pero laking gulat ko nang huminto ang lahat at nagtinginan sa babaeng naglalakad sa red carpet towards the hall.

She was wearing a baby blue ball gown, her hair's turned into a bun and while walking, she's in her all smiles and her eyes locked to mine. I gasped at the sight of her. She's so spectacular! No doubt if she would be the prom queen. I was gaping the whole time she's walking till I realized she's in front of me. I blinked at the very sight of Estela because it's not every day that I see her wearing makeup and a beautiful gown. She's beyond beautiful!

She definitely took my breath away kaya wala na akong inaksayang panahon so I invited her to dance. And while we were dancing my eyes never left hers and hers never leaving mine. It's as if we were the only couple dancing on the floor.

Sinabi rin niya na gawa-gawa lang niya ang excuse na nasa out of town siya at hindi makakarating. She just want to surprise me and yes! I'm so surprised and thankful that she's here, dancing with me... swaying with me to the romantic song emanating the hall.

Till I realized something... I've fallen for her... now, in this very moment. No, matagal na akong in love sa kanya. Hindi ko lang masabi dahil ayokong masira ang friendship namin but I will risk our friendship to be his man.

And in this prom night, I will confess to her my feelings that I love her so much at wala na akong pakialam sa kung ano man ang magiging reaksyon niya na ang bestfriend niya ay matagal nang may gusto sa kanya at minamahal siya ng palihim para hindi masira ang pagkakaibigan.

Much to my anxiety and fear that she would reject me. I was happy to know that she's just waiting for me to court her because she, too, has feelings for me.

Lucky me! And we do have mutual feelings. And after the prom night, niligawan ko siya and from the day na naging kamu na, pinahalagahan ko siya at minahal more than myself because I don’t want to lose her.

I took a sip of gin at napailing ako sa mga nangyari sa amin ni Estela. I miss her so much. After three years nang maging kami, isang araw nalaman ko nalang na umalis na siya. At ngayon, isang taon na ang nakalipas mula nang iwan niya ako.
