CHAPTER TEN

Busy kaming lahat sa kusina para sa paghahanda ng mga pagkain para sa tanghalian, "O, ilagay na natin itong mga putahe sa mesa at sila'y makakain na," Manang Minda said and we followed her to the dining area with the tray of delicious foods like menudo, beef steak, chicken fillet, sweet and sour fish and adobong manok.

We then placed the sumptuous foods beautifully on the rectangular dining table and we waited in line just few meters away behind Mr. Middleton's chair. At saglit lang ay dumating na sina Mr. and Mrs. Middleton with their three handsome sons in tow and the luncheon is going to start.

Mr. Middleton wiped his mouth,"Narinig niyo naman siguro ang balita kung gaano kalakas ang bagyong humagupit sa eastern part ng bansa 'di ba?"he said while I was filling in his tall glass with water.

"Yes, dad,"Dylan said while Jacob and Thomas nodded.

"And to help those typhoon victims, we were invited or should I say the whole Middleton family will be attending the charity ball two days from now," Mrs. Middleton said.

"It's going to be a family event because the theme is regarding how strong the family is despite of the tragedy so I want all of us to attend the charity ball. Is that clear?" Mr. Middleton said, glancing at his three sons.

Thomas said,"Of course, dad. We'll be there," then he drank his water.

"Okay. Dadalo din ako," Jacob said, shrugging.

"Dadalo kami, dad," Dylan agreed.

"So it's settled. We'll be at the charity ball. Mag-do-donate din tayo ng pera para makatulong sa rehabilitation ng mga lugar na nasalanta ng bagyo," Mr. Middleton said while his three sons nodded in agreement.

"We'll be wearing anything formal. So, you three should find your tuxedos,"Mrs. Middleton said.

"Alright, kami na bahala diyan, mom," Jacob said then they continued eating.

"So, hija, how's your stay here so far? Okay lang ba?" Mrs. Middleton asked.

Nagsasalin ako ng orange juice sa baso ni Jacob nang muntik ko na siyang matapunan buti nalang hindi ito natapon.

Natalsikan lang siya sa mukha ng konti,"Nananadya ka ba?"he said in a low angered tone then wiped his right cheek.

Then I widened my eyes as if in shock, "Naku, hindi ah. Sarreh okay? Sarreh," I said at ginaya ang boses ni Steffi Cheon.

Tapos binalingan ko si Mrs. Middleton, "Um, hindi po okay," then I paused for a moment and sighed,"dahil okay na okay! Komportable naman po silang katrabaho kaya wala pong problema sa kanilang lahat," I said, smiling.

Mrs. Middleton nodded,"That's good to hear, hija,"she said, smiling back at me.

Then I moved on to Thomas who was seating next to Jacob to fill in his tall glass with orange juice and muttered,"Hindi katulad ng playboy diyan na mahilig sa koko krunch. Ang hilig mang-asar sarap saksakan ng paa ng manok sa bunganga nang mabulunan at mamatay,"

Jacob dropped his spoon,"Ano'ng sabi mo?" he yelled, annoyance written all over his face.

"Huh? Ano'ng sinasabi? Wala ah!" I denied and mentally teased him. Bleh! Thomas just shook his head in amusement.
