I see my future
stretching out in front of me
like a twisted turning river
every now and then
the waters part
to reveal
a stone
firm in the midst of the waters
only for a little while
sometimes I see
the same stone
or one slightly different
surrounded by different
waters
I go down the river
sometimes walking
by the side
at times rowing in a boat
let me look at the waterfalls
help me survive the rapids
whirlpools
sandbanks
keep off the crocodiles
stay far from the hippos
each turn of the river
fills me with a dreading
suspense
because this river
has not been mapped yet
I am the first explorer
this is my river
my future
