walking at twilight
looking at the moon
through the branches
stepping into the shadows
blending inbreathing the cool air
eyes wide and yet unseeing
feet dancing slowly yet surely
deeper into the forest
into the darknessmoonlit face
silvery eyes
a half-smile
she walked into the nightshadows playing
she danced with them
following the night breeze
blending inher steps grew quieter
closed eyes in a moonlit face
silver tears on pale cheeksthe night called softly
the shadows swayed gently
go back, it's not timeshe shook her head, I can't
I've lost the way and the lightthe moon touched her hair
I will shine for youbut the way? she asked
I will help you find it
the breeze whisperedI will be alone
she shook her headwe will dance for you
the shadows promised
we will wait here for youthe night called softly
the shadows swayed gently
go back, it's not timeshe took a deep breath
opened her eyes
filled with silent wordsshe followed the breeze
in the light of the moon
stepping through the darkness
lightly, carefully
through the nightby the edge of the trees
she found the dawn
