(HEEE WAS NUUUMBERR OOONEE!)

Snowflake opened her eyes.

Around her were many cats; three of them were closer to her than the others. One of the three was laying right next to her; a white tomcat with gray ears, a gray tail and wide blue eyes. He was as big as her.

The second one, she realized, her and the tomcat were snuggled up to. She was gazing down at her and the tomcat with loving green eyes. She had long, white and soft fur. By instinct, Snowflake knew this was her mother. She looked at the tomcat. Snowflake knew this was her brother.

She then looked at the third close cat. He was looming over her and her brother, smiling down at them. He was a gray tabby tomcat with blue eyes.

"Her eyes are open, too!" The tabby purred. He looked at the mother. "She has your eyes! Now she looks like a copy of you, Blizzard."

Snowflake blinked and looked down at her paws. They were white. So if the tabby was being truthful, her eyes were green like her mother's, who's name was apparently Blizzard.

"And Snuggle has your eyes, Glass," the mother replied, looking at the brother.

Snowflake assumed that Snuggle was her brother's name. She looked at the tabby. He must be Glass. Instinct told her that Glass was her father.

"Hi," Snowflake mewled. "Dad?" She used these words after hearing them when her eyes were closed.

"Hello," Glass replied, attempting to contain his excitement. "Yes, I am your dad. My name is Glass. Look at the world, Snowflake."

Snowflake looked around. The other cats had so many different pelts and smells. She saw that the room she was in had hay on the floor of it.

"Hi," a long-haired white and light brown queen meowed, her green eyes glistening. She looked like Blizzard.

"Hello," Snowflake replied. She knew this word well.

"I'm Cookiedough, Blizzard's sister. Oh, Blizzard's your mother, by the way. I think Blizzard has been a great mother to you so far. Do you think I would be a good mothe--"

"Hush," Blizzard hissed to Cookiedough. "You might overwhelm her. She's just met you."

Cookiedough nodded. "My mistake. I've made many mistakes in my life, but I think I made up for them correctly. I wonder--"

Snowflake blocked Cookiedough out, her whiskers twitching with amusement. Why did she talk so much?

A black tomcat with white paws, a white muzzle, white undercoat and yellow eyes hopped over. "Hi! My name is James," he meowed. He seemed friendly. He wasn't much older than her or Snuggle. His tail twitched and his paws moved over to her like they were sure of the space around them. He seemed relaxed.

"My name is Snowflake," Snowflake replied.

James looked at Blizzard. "Can I show her around?"

Blizzard's tail tip twitched. "Take her brother, too," she meowed. "They might need to learn how to walk."

James's ears flicked and he dipped his head to Blizzard. He then nudged Snuggle. "C'mon, let me show you and Snowflake the building!"

Snuggle shrunk back against Blizzard's belly. "O-Okay," he mewled.

James's whiskers twitched and he sat back, looking at Snowflake. "You wanna try walking first?"

Snowflake nodded and pushed down on the ground with her paws. She felt her body rising. Her legs wobbled a bit, but she lifted her front left paw and outstretched it forward, letting the paw rest on the ground ahead of her. She tried the opposite paw but she fell over onto Snuggle. Snuggle squeaked and wriggled out from under her.
