Snowflake looked at where the yowl came from; it was Sara, and she was breathing heavily.
"I.. I think i'm having my kittens!" Sara called.
River leaped off his ledge and bounded over. "Are you okay?"
Sara flicked her tail. "Why would I be? Tim isn't here to see his kits be born!" She hissed.
River flinched. "Tim is watching over you. He is here."
Sara seemed a little comforted by this.
"Just breathe, and push," River continued.
Snowflake pricked her ears. She had never seen someone give birth to their kittens before.
It was Red, Spider and Apple to bound over first; Tim's siblings. Sara didn't seem to have any family.
It took a little while but the first kitten was born. It was a pale tabby tomcat with green eyes. The next one was an orange tabby queen with green eyes.
"With the power of the Ghostcats running through my veins," River began. "I call upon Tim to assist in the naming of these kittens."
Tim appeared above the kittens, who were now suckling from Sara. He put his nose on the pale tabby tomcat with green eyes.
"Tim! You're here!" Sara cheered.
Tim's eyes glistened. "Why wouldn't I be, my love?" His gaze rested on the kitten again. "Sand," he whispered, before fading away.
Hearing Tim's voice again sent a shiver running down Snowflake's spine, but she kept quiet.
Sara's eyes shimmered. "Tim has decided. The pale tabby tomcat with green eyes will be named Sand." She looked at the orange tabby queen with green eyes. "And she, she will be Carrot."
