The rest of the day was full of grief. Cocoa had been in denial.

"This is all a dream," he kept whispering. "This is a dream and i'm about to wake up.."

James hardly talked.

Snowflake spent the day feeling sorry for herself and her friends.

"Hey!"

Snowflake opened her eyes up, blinking against the sunlight of the morning. A sillhouete of a cat stood against it, standing proudly with their chest puffed out.

The voice..

"You think i'd die that easily?"

Snowflake's eyes widened.

"BIRD!" Cocoa ran over to his mate and lapped at her cheek rapidly. "You're all wet!"

"No kidding," Bird purred.

"Mom!" Hershey bounded over, Branch at her side. They curled around their mother's legs and jumped up to gently paw at her muzzle.

"We thought you joined the Ghostcats!" Branch squeaked.

"It'll be a long time until that happens, sweetie," Bird promised.

Falcon, Bird's sister, raced over quickly and pressed himself against Bird. "How did you survive?!"

"I found a log to hang onto," Bird responded casually, shrugging.

James padded over to Bird and looked her up and down. "Now this I believe is a dream." He then let out a yelp as Snowflake nipped the tip of his tail.

"Nope, you're awake," Snowflake replied, chuckling.

Bird smiled at them.

Snowflake felt a sudden pain in her belly that made her sway on her paws.

James looked at her with round eyes that showed concern. "What's wrong?"

Bird looked at Cocoa. "Looks like I arrived just in time."
