Snowflake was delivering prey (a crow this time) to Blizzard when Coal had tumbled into her. She blinked down at the kitten.
"Oops! Sorry!" Coal mewled, looking up Snowflake with round, green eyes.
Snowflake's whiskers twitched. "It's okay," she replied, her voice muffled by feathers. "Every kitten plays games." She turned back to where Blizzard was and kept padding on.
She dropped the prey at Blizzard's paws.
"I can hunt for myself, you know," Blizzard purred.
Snowflake shrugged. "You won't when you're an oldcat, so get used to it," she joked.
Blizzard's whiskers twitched. "Oh, it's not that soon. You're not even a growncat yet! Besides, I refuse to be classified as an oldcat unless I have grandchildren."
Snowflake smiled. "Understandable," she meowed, then turned and scanned the clearing.
"Looking for James?" Blizzard asked.
Snowflake turned back around. "How did you know? I could've been looking for Cocoa, or Bird, or Glow."
"Because i'm your mother, I know you better, and I know you like him," Blizzard whispered.
Snowflake flinched and lashed her tail.
"C'mon, just look me in the eyes and tell me you haven't imagined what your guys's kits might look like."
Snowflake snorted and began to pad away again.
"..I used to think that about Glass, too."
Snowflake paused with a sudden pang in her heart.
"Oop! I'm sorry! Continue with what you were doing, sweetie. I'll enjoy this crow. Thank you!" Blizzard purred.
Snowflake gave her a concerned look.
Blizzard only stared back, smiling.
Snowflake blinked her worries away and padded over to James.
