we'll start a fire that shines a light in the dark.

IN THE END, that was a mistake.

Neither Green nor Hoseok knew where to begin. She had two visitors in her house, who were both squirming in discomfort at how impulsive this meeting was, and she herself felt like maybe she could've waited until tomorrow to talk.

"I saw you two switch bodies shortly after Green transferred," Jinyoung finally spoke, breaking the ice in his confession. Hoseok noticeably slackened in his seat on the couch, but then tensed up again as soon as he processed Jinyoung's words fully.

"You saw what?" Jungkook gagged. Green was equally disturbed.

"The first time was in English class," she figured as much, "but just how did your rational mind conclude that we switched bodies at that moment? Or did you think this later? Didn't it ever cross your mind that switching bodies was even a little bit, oh I don't know, impossible?"

"To answer all of those questions, I overheard your conversation when Hoseok-ssi visited you in detention in your body," he responded simply, trying to sound collected, but it was a bit strained.

"You guys, wait a minute, I need to process this," Jungkook complained, rubbing his temple. "I'm getting a headache."

Green's eyes widened. "Did you just say—"

Jinyoung grasped his head, and the two were momentarily knocked out until Jungkook roused first. Hoseok and Green exchanged glances, speechless; they'd never seen the switch happen before their own eyes until that instant.

Wiggling their hands and touching their faces, "Jinyoung" cried, "How is this possible?"

"How did it happen for you?" the real Jinyoung, now in Jungkook's body, demanded.

Hoseok sighed, "We don't know ourselves. We're not switching anymore though, ever since I had that accident... wait a minute."

"I thought the same thing," Green said, twitching an ironic smile. "The switching phenomenon might've— no, it must've passed onto them."

"Huh? No, what? How does it work? How did you two handle this?" Jungkook blubbered, grabbing onto Hoseok's arms.

"Calm down, Jungkook-ah," Hoseok first addressed, shaking his hold off and patting his shoulders. It was strange to see him comforting what appeared to be Jinyoung, but this entire situation spelled strange and they just had to ignore those things to stay on task. "You're going to be okay. It's better than switching with a girl, trust me."

"But hyung, I can't do this still. I'm not in your grade, I don't know how I'd handle school, and—"

"Don't worry, we'll help you as much as we can," he interrupted, smiling assertively. "Right, Geurinie?"

Green exhaled precariously. "Yeah, of course. You guys have two people you can rely on. We only had each other, so you can't complain too much. Things could be much worse."

"Yeah but listen," Jinyoung spoke up, "you haven't answered his questions. Also, I don't know him either. At least you two knew each other enough."

Green scoffed, "The fxck? We were just as unacquainted as you two are."

"Um, I'm Jeon Jungkook," Jungkook tentatively spoke up, hand up to shake his own body's hand. "But you probably figured that out by now— I can't, this is so weird. I'm hearing my own voice, touching my own hand, and seeing my own self from another person's view."
