THERE'S NO TRIGGER. No forewarning long enough to react.
Nothing lasts long enough for Green to prepare. It simply happens in a matter of seconds after she feels like she just got shot in the head. Hoseok gets it too. They naively believe after the second time, they can figure out a pattern to this disaster.
Within two weeks, they've switched a total of six times that lasted anywhere between four hours and two days.
After the second switch, Green was in Hoseok's body all night. On her end, it wasn't the worst— she just had to put Hoseok's school things away, brush her teeth, and hop straight into bed (even though she wanted ramyeon so bad, she could tell that Hoseok's body just ate). However, she had to tell Hoseok to go straight home and take a shower.
Which she wasn't looking forward to.
"Are you kidding?"
"You think I'm kidding?" Green asked, rubbing circles to her temple. Her hands were sweating again. Gross. "You think I'd joke about something like this?"
"Well, I mean—"
"You need to get out of the rain and shower before you catch a cold or something."
"But— I mean—" Green can imagine Hoseok's face getting red from this— "Are you not aware that I'll be... seeing things? I don't want to invade your privacy or anything."
"I think it's inevitable at this point."
"Geurin—"
"You've already gone to the bathroom before, right?"
"I— that's different, I can't just—"
Green sighed and stared into space. "Just get it over with. And don't do anything weird."
"What do you take me for?"
"I better see you at school tomorrow. Not sick." Before she hung up, Green added, "Oh, and make sure you take off my prosthetic arm before going into the shower."
"How do you expect me to know how to—"
Green closed her eyes and counted.
Hoseok did come the next morning. He did in fact take a shower. He and Green spent nearly two hours on the phone as Green did not in fact hang up and instructed him how to take off her prosthetic. Hoseok also had the audacity to eat her ramyeon, but Green had to understand that her body was starving at that time.
The amount of respect Hoseok had for her all of a sudden skyrocketed that morning. It was painfully obvious. Just because she had to teach him how to take off and put on her arm.
But Green couldn't help but think that it was more out of pity than anything, and she hated being pitied.
It was around lunchtime when Green was in turmoil, wondering where she should eat and who to eat with, when she needed to pee.
Do I touch it? she wondered as she stood in a bathroom urinal and undid her belt. Slowly. She really didn't want to see what was underneath there. It was enough to get changed that morning and being welcomed to nothing under those sweatpants.
Even worse, a boy could walk in at any moment and notice just how weird "Jung Hoseok" was being, all squirmish at a urinal.
That's when the headache came.
And she was saved.
This was rather short-lived, however. Not even two days later, they switched again on her way home from school.
