FOR A WHILE now, Green wondered how they'd come up with the song and choreography for the upcoming dance competition when they literally had nothing.
"We have three weeks left before graduation," she sighed heavily, hand in her hair, as she paced around the underground studio, "and two weeks 'til we perform. We have no choreography down and little time to practice, what with final exam reports and all. Hoseok, how long are you going to stall this?"
"I'm not stalling it anymore," he said, hands on her shoulders to make her stop walking, "but first, I need to know if you're okay."
"I'm fine, I swear."
"You can't say 'I swear' next to 'I'm fine.' I know you. I was you," Hoseok laughed, pulling her close and observing their intimate bodies in the mirror. "You've been out of it lately."
"Reasonably. I mean, Jungkook doesn't want to participate anymore, Taehyung tried to replace him— note, I said tried— and now Jimin doesn't want to do it either because he doesn't memorize dances very easily. Time is running out, and—"
"That's not what I meant."
Green flicked her eyes up at his hat, a black baseball cap, staring blankly at the little rings pierced into it. Hoseok followed her gaze and gaze his head a little jiggle, the rings jiggling along. She closed her eyes and took in his masculine scent, burying her head in his chest.
"Stop sniffing me," he chuckled, twirling her away from him. "It tickles."
She slapped a hand to her mouth not to laugh. It felt so inappropriate, but Hoseok's bright smile did not help at all. "I know you're not that ticklish so stop lying. It's just— never mind."
"You gotta tell me, boo."
She tapped her foot, head lifted to the ceiling as she professed, "I told my parents about you, about Jinyoung, about the whole dancing thing... and you know what they did?"
Hoseok's eyes darkened suddenly, surprising her, as he stepped forward. "What did they do?"
"Hold on, don't get so serious," Green helplessly snorted, stepping back. "They just... well, Yoongi-oppa was there, and he went all, 'Eff this ish' and left the room. Then I left a moment later. We talked, and then the next day, our mom wanted to hear one of Yoongi's mixes."
"No way."
"Right? It's like my parents went cold turkey on their workaholic brains." She ran a hand through her hair, processing the events. "Then she asked me about the dancing thing. I said I'm going to a dance competition with you, and my parents want to see us and meet you then."
"Wow. I am honored and proud and want to piss my pants right now."
The two laughed and understandably wanted to cry at the same time.
"So back to the dance thing," Green swung around, tuggling at her pink turtleneck she regretted wearing when it was summer. "Do you really know what we're doing?"
He nodded, pecking the crease in her brow. "Yep. We're dancing to one of Yoongi's songs he mixed, just us two— and before you say anything, let me get it all out first."
Green's mouth was open to speak in stupefaction, but she closed it a moment later.
"Jungkook-ah didn't want to participate in the dance since Jinyoung... you know. But you're wrong about Jiminie. He learns faster than you think— he's just a perfectionist. He wanted to dance with us until Yoongi-hyung came up to us with the song he made recently, asking us to choreograph a dance for it. Jiminie asked me to just dance it with you, like a romantic duo."
She twitched her brow, thinking hard. "What's the song? Did oppa sing it?"
"Nope. Jin-hyung and Jungkook-ah did. Yoongi-hyung did rap in it though."
"No way they did."
Hoseok nodded eagerly. "I guess we both have something shocking to say today. Do you want to listen to it?"
"Why did he keep it a secret from me though?" she whined lowly, attacking Hoseok's arm with her head. He stroked it for a moment before planting a loving kiss to her smiling lips.
