THE VERY NEXT day, Green dropped by Hoseok's house again and the two strolled in the park, reveling in the cloudy, chilly morning weather. She handed him his gift and he laughed out loud when he peeked inside.

"Is that a pink sweater?" he chortled, poking at it inside.

"Yeah, actually," Green felt shy to say, "pink is my favorite color."

"What? I didn't know that. It's not green? Or white?"

By the way he was looking at her, teasing her, Green knew he was referring to the time he had his first period. "Oh my god, Hoseok," she cried, pushing his chest and spinning around, trying not to display how funny she actually thought it was.

He hauled it out, revealing two oversized sweaters and a box. The bigger one was a light pastel pink, which was for Hoseok, and the smaller one was a dark green for Green herself. Both sweaters had words etched onto them, spelling "HUG ME" in aesthetic white English letters.

"It's so cute," he winced, holding it up to his chest to see that it would fit him perfectly. He expected her to know his size if she was in his body half of the time in the first semester. He even expected her to know the size of his boxers if he happened to know her bra size.

"Happy birthday, Hoseok."

"Ah, I love it," he sighed, smiling so wide that it hurt his cheeks, which was a feat. "I love it with all my heart."

"I love you too with all my heart," Green managed to tell him at last, self-conscious to say it, as she busied herself in fumbling with the box in her hands.

Hoseok's brows shot up, at a loss for words. The feeling he had inside was inexplainable, but uncontainable. Instead of bursting as they both expected, he quietly took the box from her hands and stroked her head for a moment.

Green was getting more and more anxious with each passing second of no response, lightly touching her head.

When he opened the box, there were two promise rings inside, and he gasped loudly. "Geurin! What the hell!"

She was quick to ramble, "It was my brother's idea, after I told him about last night— I had to tell someone or else I might explode, and— I thought of the sweaters okay, I know it's stupid but he convinced me that I should give this to you and tell you that I love y—"

He shut her up with his needy mouth, kissing her so desperately and passionately as he threaded his fingers into her hair and pressed his palms to her cheeks, making them so warm that her insides exploded. Green's mind emptied out completely, her worries fleeing from her trembling body. She tugged at his collar to kiss him back, angling her head to feel him closer and snuggle up in his warmth.

She was indeed soaking up the happiness bursting in her chest, surfacing to her intimate feelings poured onto Hoseok, and him reciprocating it back, again and again. His hand moved down to graze her hips and rest on the small of her back, yanking her even closer when they thought it was impossible.

When he pulled back to breathe, he knocked his forehead against hers so she could only look into his eyes, noses touching. "I love you so much," he panted, having never shared a kiss so intense with her before.

Green was fighting for air in her lungs to speak and think, but he took her chin and kissed her again before she could.

someone could waste their whole life, helplessly, just patiently waiting for a love like you and me.
