Let me take your hand
And lead you forth
To a sacred land
Far to the north.Perhaps you forget
The times we spent
After we met
When leaves descent.Oh, what fun we had then
The memories it brings
Counting until ten
Flying on the swings.Oh, what joy we were in
When the snow thawed
And our worries grew thin
Up and down the see-saw.Oh, eyes and smiles wide
Being the children we were
Racing down the slides
Exhilaration over fear.Oh, fingers intertwined
Careful not to peek
A place to hide behind
Search for whom you seek.Sand castles in the box
Kites dancing up high
A splash and wet socks
Only laughter reached the sky.Jump, duck, ready to turn
On to the merry-go-round
Oh, how I long for your return
To our secret playground.
