*Percy POV*

"...if it's the last thing I do."

K.C. muttered as she fell. The hurt was worse than what she could of ever done to me. The shadow of grief. I've seen it so many times, it's not even funny.

I yelled, until my vocal cords were raw. There was nothing I could do. Nothing to bring her back. She was gone and I never told her I loved her truly.

*Madelyn POV*

Plummeting to her death, she realized she didn't feel any pain. There was a bright light and a faintest hint of a human figure. And a blinding light and she woke up in a forest. With a bed? A bathroom? It was just like her dreams. She always wanted a house in the woods to hunt with her bow. But now it was a reality? She knew for sure she was dead. It was a 22-story drop to freezing cold water. There was no denying. She was gone. But then why was she in a forest-bedroom like she'd seen so many times in dreams?

*Magnus POV*

I'm Annabeth's dead cousin. Yes I know, your most likely thinking, "Dead? But how? Can I die in agony too?" No, no you can't. But I'm not really dead, I guess. I was taken from a burning bridge (don't ask) and my home, which was on the streets, to Valhalla. It's basically and afterlife for heroes that died bravely.

Sleeping in my forest room on Floor 19 of Hotel Valhalla, like the "normal" teenager I am, I was shaken awake by a dwarf. Yes, a dwarf.

"Kid! Kid! Come on kid, get up!" Bolting up, I came up to the bearded face of Blitzen. His eyes were filled with worry and curiosity.

"What's up? And why did you wake me up at-" I glanced at my clock.

"3 AM?!"

Before Blitzen could answer, Hearthstone clapped for our attention. Hearthstone is a deaf elf who has rune magic, by the way. He signed,

Something happened. Something big.

Something big happened? I scratched my head, just wanting to go back to sleep and forget all of this just occurred. Putting my head in my hands, I noticed when I sat up, my covers had fallen down, revealing my bare chest. Alex coughed and pointed to their chest. Alex is genderfluid and I didn't know what they were at 3 AM. Yanking the blanket up, I also noticed Sam was in my room as well. Great.

"Hey, Magnus. Get a shirt on, will ya? We don't need to experience all of....that."

Blushing, I shooed them out, promising to meet all them by the elevator after I got a shirt on and actually woke up.

Grabbing from my bedside table a balled up green shirt and the pendent that was my sword named Jack, I dashed from my room, curious of what was going to happen.

I met up with Alex, Sam, Blitzen and Hearthstone to ride down and find out what was going on. I pressed the main floor button, which had a little gold star next to it. As soon as the doors closed, the annoying, repetitive music blared on the speakers. We didn't talk because we all had a lot of our minds. What could be so important that they had to wake me up at 3 AM. They know to never come and get me up. That's one of my rules. I just hoped it wasn't anything bad. The 9 worlds have been relatively quiet and there's barely any quests these days. Valhalla is just not as crazy as it was when I first arrived.

The door dinged as the doors slid open. As soon as there was enough room to squeeze through, we all bolted out and dashed to the front desk.

Helga was shouting orders at Hunding, who looked stressed. Helga looked frustrated.

"Hey, what's up? What's so important?"

Helga was muttering to himself, words like "Jackson" "Why now?" "Now I have to-"

My stomach clenched at the mention of the word Jackson. It better not be Annabeth or Percy. Could it be Ashlyn?

"Ummm, Helga, what's up? Hello?"

He snapped back to reality.

"Two Greek demigods have come to Valhalla and we are really busy with it at the moment."

"What are their names?"

He looked up from his clipboard.

"Madelyn Greenwood and Jackson. K.C. Jackson."
