Chapter 23

Louis' POV:

I felt so low lower than I had ever felt before in my life. I couldn't bare going into college to see her face or his face. I knew it would just send me over the edge. The way they looked at each other and kissed would be brought back every time I saw her. It would just be unbearable.

I only had myself to blame but that didn't make it much better.

No one would care if I didn't go to college my mum, step dad and sister always left before I left for college so they wouldn't know.

I heard a little knock on my door. I hoped whoever it was on the other side would go away if I didn't answer.

"Louis" Ella called from the other side of the door. "Louis" She called again a few moments later.

"Please open the door, mummy told me not to speak to you because you're ill but I miss you I haven't seen you since the match I wanted to tell you how great you were" her voice was all whiny and quiet.

"Come in" I tried to make my voice sound rough like I had a cough so she wouldn't think mum was lying.

Ella had her hair high up in bunches, her usual style for school. She sat on the edge of my bed staring at me.

"Don't tell mum I came to see you she'll shout at me. She's been really moody since the football match. I don't know why though." She looked sad, I felt guilty that I had affected my family by a stupid lie.

"So have you finished that jigsaw yet?" I asked to change the subject.

"Rex ate some of the pieces so I gave up" I clenched my fists to avoid saying something horrible to her. I really felt like strangling that stupid dog it would have saved me a lot of hassle.

"Ella get down here and put your shoes on you'll be late" mum yelled from downstairs.

"Bye" Ella whispered and gave me a quick hug and ran downstairs.

I was glad that I was finally alone until I looked down and saw two big brown eyes staring up at me. I wanted to physically kick the stupid thing out my room.

Rex started whining for my attention. Even though I was practically hated by everyone he was the last thing I wanted attention from.

I closed my eyes to go back to sleep and Rex whined even louder. I gave in and picked him up from the floor and put him on the bottom of my bed.

I was woken up by loud banging at the front door.

"Open the door mate it's me" I heard Niall shout. I reluctantly got out of bed to open the front door for him.

"You weren't at college I missed you" he was about to carry on speaking before I interrupted "I'm sure you have more friends than just me"

"Well obviously I do but college is not the same without you. I wanted to see how you were you've had a tough month." I didn't understand why he was being so caring and considerate normally he would just laugh at everything. This new Niall was, weird.

"I'm sure it's been worse for Lexi so why aren't you with her" I mumbled.

"Why do you keep beating yourself up over this anyone would think you're depressed or something. Everyone makes mistakes. It just send that you make more than the rest" he mumbled the last bit.

"Well maybe I am depressed I don't know. I'm sure there's not much worse than being hated by everyone you love and seeing your ex kiss someone else." Niall furrowed his eyebrows.

"What the fuck are you serious? Who?" he was beginning to sound more are more like a girl.

"Liam" I tired to say with as much disgust in my voice as possible.

"As in Liam Payne the one on our team?" he questioned.

"Yes Liam Payne" I yelled which made him step back a bit so I lowered my voice "I could have the whole thing ruined in seconds. He's best friends with Andy but as soon as I tell Joe it would all be finished."

Niall looked at me like I was mental "You're crazy, he wouldn't believe you seeing as you cheated on his sister"

"Thanks for the reminder, I thought you came here to cheer me up. So did you have a fun time without me at college?" before he could answer I continued "I bet you walked into the common room saw I wasn't there and Matt was probably late so you sat with Lexi and Harry"

"Um yeah. She seemed pretty happy and now I know why" he laughed nervously. I wished I hadn't opened the door to him.

"Wow Niall, you really know how to make me feel better"

I wasn't looking forward to business. I knew it would take all my strength to not ask her about him. I knew she would still be fuming from the football match.

I really didn't want to go but if I didn't turn up it would look like I was hiding from everything, which would be true.

For the whole of my p.e lesson I was thinking of how much I didn't want to go to business.

As we walked out of the sportshall Niall said "I think I left something in the changing room can you help me find it" one of the many things that annoyed me about Niall was how he was always loosing things.

"For gods sake Niall what is wrong with you?"

We went back into the changing room and looking for one of niall's socks that he claimed cost him £20 so he couldn't bear to lose them. He looked under a few benches then gave up.

"If you actually cared about your socks you'd look harder than that"

He looked in his backpack "I've found then it doesn't matter" he nevously laughed.

I could see Liam at the bottom of the hill near the sportshall hall. I figured that Niall must have seen him when we came out the first time which is why he pretended he'd forgot his socks.

"You made it up didn't you" I asked as we walked out the sportshall for the second time.

"Made up what?"

"Loosing your socks, you saw Liam over there and you wanted me to avoid him. Nothing fools me Niall you should know that by now." 

"Yes maybe I did see him but it was only to stop you from doing something you regretted."

The fact that Niall didn't want me to cause a problem made me want to cause one even more. It made me laugh that he thought he could out smart me. He did have a nice go at it but being someone who was such a good liar. I could easily tell when people where lying.

I could tell Niall was getting nervous as we got closer and closer to Liam so I said "Don't worry Niall I'm not going to say something complely stupid"

"You know when you kiss Lexi you should stroke her hair at the same time she really likes that" I couldn't help myself from saying it. I knew I shouldn't have but it was just funny to see his jaw drop open.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had supported me so far. I will update more often and at least once a week and I promise I won't leave it 2 months to update. I actually have a plan of where the story is going to go now. So I hope you like the upcoming chapters :)
