*Above is a picture of part of the town, it is to show you the old squared buildings. :)*
**In case you couldn't pronounce the town, Micanopy, it is pronounced (Mick-ah-no-pee).**
"You lived in an old-fashioned town?" I laugh as we drive through the small town of Micanopy. "The speed limit is fifteen down main street, Micah,"
Micah snorts. "I hate it too,"
I laugh loudly. "It's sort of cute though,"
"Cute? You didn't have to deal with it for almost eighteen years," He grumbles.
I laugh as I drive the speed limit of fifteen miles per hour and look at all the old-fashioned buildings. The buildings are skinny and tall and all crammed together with old looking signs and chipped paint. Surprisingly, there are a lot of people walking on the skinny sidewalk, sitting outside businesses, and even some licking creative ice cream cones.
Honestly, I think it is adorable and like being thrown back in time. There is even a carriage with two horses hooked to it. I laugh at everything as I follow Micah's directions to his mother's house where she and Sawyer will be waiting.
"It's like their stuck in the 1800's," I laugh. "I do like all the oak trees though,"
"I think it's a trademark or something," He mutters. "Take a left up here,"
"And is it Spanish moss hanging on them?" I question as I take a left.
"Wow, you do know your plants,"
I grin triumphantly. "Of course, I live in a forest,"
"Spanish moss doesn't grow in Minnesota though, not unless you transport it, and I don't think it would survive long,"
"We have to know all sorts of plants in case we move to a new pack or visit, so we don't only learn our forest plants," I inform. "Besides, it's good to know plants if you travel anywhere,"
"True," He says as he nods his head. Then he sighs loudly. "That's it," He grumbles.
I slow the truck down as I look at the house. The house is different than when I saw it while Micah was still living in it. The house is a white two story with columns in the front and a wraparound porch. There is a cracking driveway with one dark green mini van parked. The yard has two giant oak trees but it looks like they have more than two with all the white Spanish moss covering them and hanging down like a weeping willow would.
I park the truck by the curb and then shut it off. The house looks really nice and has a dark green yard. The sidewalk is a bunch of stepping stones leading from the nonexistent sidewalk up to the four-step porch.
"Okay, we came, can we turn around now?" Micah suddenly asks as he turns in his seat to face me, his seat belt digging into his neck that is littered in dark hickies.
I smile and shake my head as I unbuckle his seatbelt for him so it will stop digging into his skin. "No, baby," I laugh. "Come on,"
He grabs my arm and pulls me back as I try to open my door. "Just, give me a kiss first,"
I grin and lean over the middle console to grant his wish. "You'll be okay, baby, I promise I'll be there the entire time,"
"You better be," He grumbles as he lets my arm go.
"Come on, handsome," I say and then exit the truck.
I walk around the truck and find Micah still sitting in the truck with an adorable pout on his face. I roll my eyes and open the door for him.
