a/n: alright so I don't usually do an author's note because I tend to find them unnecessary but...

This book is actually getting a few reads?? Wow?? Honestly thanks for taking the time to read this because I'm planning some cool stuff for it, and I'm glad someone out there is enjoying it!!

The end of this chapter and the one to follow it mark the end of me following the original story arc, but that doesn't mean parts of the original AoT story won't be included. I'm also going to be doing a character q&a or a story q&a, so if you have any questions about my characters, the way I write, or the fic in general just leave a comment for this section and I will answer them after the next chapter. I'm also compiling a playlist for this book because I a certain style of music that I listen to to help my writing flow.

I look forward to hearing you guys' thoughts! Please don't be ghost readers! Vote, comment, and follow <3

Light creeps its way into the corners of my eyes as I slowly open them. My head feels fuzzy for a second as the bright sun glares down at me. Carefully, I reach my hand to my eyes to rub at them and try to pull them into focus.

Above me I see the canopy of leaves from the gigantic trees, and partial blue sky shining through. I exhale, a silent thank you for being alive. From the looks of the trees above I could have definitely died had I not tried to slow down my fall. I inhale heavily as I try to move my legs, but pain over comes my body.

Fuck, I can barely move.

I wince as I try to sit up, searing pain shooting through my whole body. Gritting my teeth and groaning I pull my body weight up. The pressure on my torso makes me feel like I'm suffocating and tears of pain begin to well up. By the time I'm able to get on my feet again, I have to lean against a tree to stand properly.

There's no way to tell how far I fell or how long I was out. For the first time outside of the walls, I was actually fearful that I had been forgotten and left behind.

No, not forgotten. Presumed dead.

Even though the wall wasn't that far off from the forest there's no way I could make it back on foot. Without a horse I would tire out too easily and more than likely become Titan chow. Using my 3DMG was out of the question: it was broken.

Fuck. This is a goddamn Bitch of an unsatisfactory situation.

I push myself off of the tree and force myself to take shaky steps. There's no doubt that I've bruised my back extremely bad, and maybe even broken something back there.

Just as I'm starting to become more comfortable walking, the ground becomes shaky. At first I think I'm just dizzy from pain and I'm going to pass out so I grab for the tree trunk next to me, but when a towering, muscular Titan runs past me I know what's happening.

The female Titan from earlier is running with a hand covering her nape, and flashes of green I assume to be the Survey Corps follow after her.

If my maneuvering gear was working I would be able to assist them, god knows they'll be needing it.

Using all of the strength I can muster, I push myself into a slow jog and then a sprint. My breathing is more like wheezing, but I keep my eyes trained upward so that I can follow the blurs of green through the forest in hopes of finding help.
