Armin and I heave Hanje's body onto the wagon, out of breath and covered in blood. Mobility followed us out to ensure we would make it out in one piece, and he rushes to find the first aid kit once he makes it to the wagon.
"Armin, stay with her! I'm going back in there!"
"Wait, Lux!" Moblit grabs me as I try to run back over to the chapel. The ground below us starts to shake violently and I tumble backwards both from the force of of Moblit's tug on my arm and the splitting earth.
"What's happening?!" Armin screams at us from the wagon. Moblit pulls me back just before the portion of my ground I'm standing on cracks. I land on my back with a huff as well as Moblit, and propping myself up on my shoulders I see the chapel crumbling before my eyes.
Steam and smoke fill the air along with bright flashes of lightening. I have to put a hand above my eyes to shield my face, and the heat from whatever is rising from below can be felt from even this distance. I gasp once my eyes adjust to the brightness as I struggle to believe what I'm seeing.
"That's a titan!" I scramble to my feet immediately. Moblit climbs up into the wagon with Armin attempting to stop Hanje's wound from bleeding. I ready my swords and gear, preparing for the worst, but again to my surprise the Titan ignores us completely. Instead, it's long wormlike body crawls up from the cavern and begins to inch across the ground.
It's gangly limbs are to boney to be considered fully formed, and the skin around its spine looks saggy and disformed.
"It's an abnormal. It's completely ignoring us. But why does it look so-" Armin stutters over his words, mouth hanging open.
I myself stare at it in shock. It's massive and still steaming. I can see if glowing as it uses it's arms to pulls its weight across the land. My eyes follow the nasty beast's movements and when I look further into the distance I can see Orvud district.
I shake my head. "It's not an abnormal. It's heading towards the walls."
A groan pulls my focus away from the monstrous titan and I see Hanje try to sit up.
"Squad leader!" Moblit immediately goes to hold her steady.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. What happened? What is that?" She fixes me with a pointed gaze and I swallow harshly.
"Some kind of titan. It's headed towards the direction of Wall Sina. Hanje, Levi and the others are still trapped underground. I'm going down there to try and help."
She sighs and lays back down, groaning in pain. "I won't stop you. Do you know if they made it to Eren and Historia?"
I look towards the crumbled remains of the chapel and the caves in earth that surrounds it. "No."
My heart sinks at the thought of what could be going on under there right now, or rather, what isn't going on. "I can't stand around and wait, though. Someone has to get down there."
I begin to make my way carefully to the chapel's remains. The earth is split open in some places, and in others giant pieces of of the ground have fallen inwards. I crouch down next to one to see if I can see below, and luckily I see the glowing of the ore.
"Hello! Is anyone down there!?" I shout out into blue light. A small figure below runs into view, brown ponytail swishing back and forth. I can tell it's Sasha but she is too far away for me to hear what she says, so I call out to her again.
"Sasha! Use your gear to to hoist yourself up here!"
Moments later she's at the top of the hole, panting and grinning from ear. "Lux! Me and Connie we're searching for a way out! Is Hanje alright?"
