A/N: hello beautiful, sexy people! I have an update! It's short but hopefully it holds you over. I started school so updates might be slow but I will try to keep writing!

Another thing I've gotten super into the SpideyPool ship (don't even ask me how that happened) so if you're into that slip me some story suggestions.

Okay! Enough of this. As always please vote, comment, make requests if you have any. I will see you next time!

Ever since he and Cas got together, there was this urge inside Dean. Like the romantic bone in his body finally woke up and decided Cas needs a cute pet name. Terms of endearment were usually thrown around in a sarcastic tone between the hunter and his brother, but Dean craved a nickname to give to Cas.

So Dean started experimenting with it. He started with "angel," even though it was blatantly obvious and it made him cringe.

Cas had walked into the bunker after a week of being on his own mission and Dean was more than happy to see him. Cas had practically ran into Dean's arms as soon as he saw him.

"Hey, angel," Dean mumbled into Cas's hair before placing a kiss to his head.

Cas pulled back and did that little head tilt before replying. "Hello... human?"

That was how angel was scratched off the list. Dean couldn't even bring himself to call him "baby." There was only one baby in his life and it would forever be his car.

He had tried though. Dean woke up one morning to Cas sat in the library, sifting through possible cases.

"Morning, bab-" and it was almost like Dean was physically choking. "Oh god."

The green-eyed man had to run all the way to the garage to apologize to his Baby for even thinking of giving that name to someone else. Even if that someone else was Cas.

"Babe" was one Dean didn't even attempt at all. It was a generic nickname he would use on girls at bars he couldn't be bothered to remember their names. He didn't want to associate Cas with that because Dean planned on making him forever, not just for a night.

"Honey" was cute and simple and it almost worked.

Dean remembered Cas's fascination with bees and honey, he thought he could use that to his advantage.

"Honey, can you make some coffee?" Dean had never seen Cas's eyes shine for bright. Dean had thought he found the one.

Until Cas would launch into a whole lesson about bees and everything concerning bees. It had been adorable at first, Cas had interests and he'd smile. But after about the 5th time, honey had to go.

The list went on and on for Dean. "My love" was far too corny, "darling" made him sound like some Texan, "sunshine" had been used too sarcastically in the past for it to mean anything to Dean.

It would eat Dean alive, what did he call the love of his life? "Love of my life" was too wordy and he was back to square one.

It wasn't until they were eating at some diner on Valentine's day that it hit him. Sweetheart. Cas had used that nickname for him once or twice but it never stuck; Cas admitted that he preferred saying Dean's real name anyways because he liked the way it sounded and Dean wouldn't complain.

The diner was having a sweetheart special and that name rung in Dean's ears.

"Sweetheart," he had mumbled with a soft smile on his face.

"Yes?" Cas responded, looking at his menu out of courtesy than actually needing to eat.

Cas' easy response only confirmed the nickname for Dean.

So the angel was hardly ever Cas to Dean anymore. He was sweetheart. His sweetheart.

Sweetheart, pass the sugar.

Sweetheart, we gotta go.

C'mon, sweetheart, you know I didn't meant it like that.

That bone in Dean's body didn't tingle anymore and that romantic ache had been filled. Dean's way of expressing love for Cas was found.
