*Tuesday*

Ethan's POV
Today was the day that I'm supposed to study with Vanessa. After school, I packed up my stuff at my locker.

Vanessa wasn't at her locker so I headed out to the parking lot to find Will leaving with the car and Vanessa standing there. She rolled her eyes and started to leave.

"Hey! Vanessa!" I called and jogged up to her. "I can give you a ride!" I offered.

"Really?"

"Ya, I mean, I have to come over to study anyway."

"That's right. Thank you!" She said. I led her to my car and we both got in. She helped me with directions to her house and I pulled into the driveway.

"You hungry?" She asked and threw her bag on the ground when we got inside.

"What do you have?"

"Help yourself" Vanessa seemed a lot more comfortable and outgoing now. There's no place like home, I guess. She grabbed a bag of pretzels and I grabbed goldfish.

"Let's go to my room." She said and grabbed her bag off the floor. I followed her up the stairs and into a room on the left.

She casually pulled off her baggy sweatshirt, revealing her tight tank top and yoga pants. She pulled her hair out of its bun and shook it. Damn. She has a nice body. She tall and skinny and curvy. Stop staring Ethan.

She almost immediately had all her papers and supplies out on her desk. I awkwardly put all my stuff out and sat down. She laid on her stomach on her bed and I sat at her desk.

"So... what now?" I laughed and brushed my hair back.

"I have an idea. Let's do the homework and you ask me any questions you have as you go along." Vanessa suggested and I agreed, then we started working in silence.

I could hear her crunching on her pretzels and the pencil scratching against the paper. It sounded like she was zipping through the homework, but I was stuck on the second question.

"Umm, I ... uh..." I struggled to find the words, I felt so stupid.

"You need help?" She asked with a smirk on her face. I nodded and she chuckled. She climbed off the bed and stood over my shoulder. Her head was right next to mine and her hair fell over my shoulder. She smelled good. Like shampoo.

"What do you need help with?" She asked.

"What's the formula?" I asked. She went on explaining to me how to do the problem, but it was kind of hard for me to focus.

"Does that make sense?" She said after explaining.

"So your saying I do y + 67 and then..." I repeated everything she had just said as I solved the problem. "Is that right?" I asked nervously.

"Correct!" She said with a smile. "Anything else?"

"Not yet." I said. She laughed and went to lay back down in the bed.

"Thanks a lot for the help." I told her as I put my stuff back in my bag. It was already 6:30.

"Ya, so every Tuesday and Thursday right?"

"Yup." I said as we walked to the front door. "Hey, where's Will?"

"He's probably out with the team or something getting food." She shrugged and opened the door.

"Oh. What about your mom or dad, are they bringing food or something?" She went stiff at the mention of her parents.

"They, uh... I've got it covered." She spoke and forced a smile. I nodded slowly.

"Alright then. Thanks again. I'll see you tomorrow." I stepped out of the house.

"Ya, See ya." She said and held the door open. I stood there watching her.

"Are you gonna leave or..." She asked. I snapped back into focus.

"Oh, ya, I thought you were gonna close the door." I managed to choke out. I'm such an idiot.

"Okay, I'll close it. Bye." She laughed and shut the door. I stared right where she was just standing and smiled for a few seconds.

Agh.

Snap out of it Ethan! I wiped the smile off my face and walked out to my car.

I can't wait till Thursday.
