Ethan's POV
I'm surprised I actually made it home without getting into an accident. Funny thing is, I can't even recall driving home because my brain was clouded with thoughts and questions. When I got home, I immediately took Gray into my room and told him everything. I rant to Gray way too much. I need a turtle or something.
"So she just left?" Grayson asked.
"Yes! She actually believed that shit Will put in her head!"
"He has lots of power over her." Grayson noted.
"Ya, he does. But that's the thing. He got so pissed of when I said that he screwed her up."
"What did he do?"
"He said something about her being fragile, and he told me to ask her about her dad."
"What about her dad?"
"I don't know, but it seemed like it bothered him a lot." I told Grayson and he listened closely.
"What should I do?"
"Talk to Vanessa."
"But what if she's mad at me?"
"You have to find out for yourself."
"Should I text her?" I asked.
"No! Grow a pair and go talk to her in person!" Grayson said.
"Shut up." I pushed him.
"No seriously! Find out what's wrong with her." He said.
"I will... Tomorrow." Grayson scowled at me.
"She said she'd needed time to think so I'll talk to her tomorrow!" I told him. He nodded and left my room. I layed there in my bed watching the ceiling for lord knows how long before I fell asleep.
Will's POV
As soon as Ethan left, I collapsed onto the couch trying my hardest not to cry.Damn Ethan had to come in here and bring back some shitty memories. I try my hardest to block out those memories and put on a strong front, but sometimes I can't help but remember.
*Flashback*
Vanessa and I walked off the middle school bus and up to our driveway. Before we even opened the door we could hear mom and dad shouting at each other in Spanish.I hesitantly opened the door to see my parents pacing back and forth around the house shouting. We didn't know why, but this fight seemed to be worse than any one before.
Before I could stop her, Vanessa threw herself between my parents who were swinging at each other. Stupid, terrified me just watched arms flying around until one struck Nessa across the face, my dads.
I stood in shock and Vanessa fell back on to the couch. My dad didn't even look in her direction and my mom shouted at him in Spanish.
"You just struck my daughter!" At this point, Mom, me, and Nessa had tears in our eyes.
It was then that I charged Dad and tried to tackle him by the waist, but he flung me off him. The world around me started to spin and my head throbbed when I hit the ground.
What dad said next, I remember clearly, and I'll never forget it.
"You should play football, son. With a tackle like that, you'd be good." I looked at him with complete and utter disgust and he looked back at me with a plain smile.
"Get the hell out of my house and never come back." Mom muttered in anger.
Without hesitation, Dad left.
He never came back.
*Flashback over*Ever since that day, our lives have never been the same.
Mom is almost never home. Somehow, the fridge stays full and the bills get paid, but Nessa and I almost live alone.
After that day, Nessa was in counseling for a year. Since then, she's always been shy and scared, and it's all dads fault. I tried to get her to open up and be friends at the beginning like we used to be, but it was hopeless, she was gone.
Ever since that day, there isn't a day that goes by that I haven't thought about Dad. Actually, I remind myself of him, and I hate it. I tried out for the football team like dad had suggested, I took on his attitude and personality. I'm an asshole, and I know it. Even to my own sister, my once best friend. And I don't know why, why I act like Dad or why I bully my own sister, but I hate myself for it every damn day.
