Vanessa's POV
After breakfast, Ethan and I just watched tv all day. I know, how romantic. I made him watch the bachelorette. He wasn't happy about it.

Anyway, we got bored of tv and we were hungry considering it was already like 6:30. We chilled outside in the sun on the little couch. Ethan made barbecue chicken and it was already close to 8 and it was dark.

"Welp. Now we can't go in the water." I shrugged. We were already dressed to go in but it's too dark.

"Says who?" Ethan asked sassily.

"It's going to be really cold." I whined. He stood up and came next to me.

"Let's test it." He smirked and snatched me up into his arms. I screamed and laughed as he carried me on the dock. He threw me in the water again and I was right. It's cold. I heard a splash next to me and came to the surface to find Ethan.

"What is with you and throwing me in the water?!" I asked.

"It never gets old!" He clapped.

"I have my clothes on!" I wiped my hair out of my face. He laughed and I pulled my over shirt off, leaving me in a bikini. He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes. "Stop!" I laughed and threw my shirt on the dock. For the next hour we messed around in the water and I was having the time of my life. It kind of feels weird to have a good life.

Ethan's POV
It started getting really cold so we went back inside and got a giant blanket but I dragged Vanessa back outside before she could get comfortable.

"Come here." I walked over to a giant floatie that was tied to the dock and hopped on. "Come on!" I urged her and she shook her head.

"I can't do it!"

"Vanessa it's like two feet, just jump! I got you!" I stood up and held my arms out. She jumped with the blanket onto the float and we fell back down.

"What's the point of this?" She asked.

"You'll see." I smirked and went to the edge of the float. I quickly untied us and we started to float away.

"Ethan... don't tell me you just untied us." Damn. She has a scary mad face. She'll make a good mother.

"The tide will bring us back in." I shrugged and leaned back.

"Ethan we're on a lake! There's no tide!" She said.

"You worry too much. Just trust me." I said and put my hands behind my head. She rested her head on my arm and threw the blanket over us.

"The stars are pretty." She said calmly. I could hardly see her in the dark, but the stars were shining bright. "When I was younger and my parents were fighting, I'd get on my roof and look at the stars. They never knew where I was. It was wonderful." I looked down and kissed the top of her head.

"Gray and I used to count stars sometimes. It never lasted long. He couldn't go past 17." I joked and she rolled her eyes.

After a few moments of silence, she spoke again. "This feels like summer."

"I wish it was summer." I sighed.

"Me too. But we still have months to go."

"We can do it. It'll go by fast. Then we can be together all summer." I smiled down at her. She turned herself over and propped herself up on my chest. Her wavy black hair fell to one side of her face and her light brown eyes glistened in the dark. She's so fucking gorgeous.
