*Saturday Morning*

Vanessa's POV
I woke up to light pouring through a window and ruffled sheets beside me. That's right. I stayed with Ethan. The alarm clock read 9:14, so I got up. I re-did my bun and adjusted my clothes.

I quietly made my way down the stairs and walked into the kitchen to see the twins helping their mom make breakfast. Ethan spotted me and came over.

"Good morning." He gave me a sweet smile and spoke with a raspy voice. It was cute.

"How come you didn't wake me up?" I asked.

"You looked so comfy... I didn't want to bother you." He said as he snaked his hand around my waist and kissed me on the side of my head.

"Mom, this is Vanessa." Ethan's mom put the spatula down and walked over to me.

"Hi sweetie! It's nice to meet you. Ethan's told me a lot about you." She smiled.

"Mom..." Ethan muttered and widened his eyes. She mouthed 'sorry' and I laughed.

"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Dolan."

"Please honey, call me Lisa."

"Alright. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was staying-"

"Oh it's alright. I understand you were in a tricky situation." I nodded and Lisa went back to the stove. "You like pancakes?" Lisa asked.

"Love them!" I said as my stomach grumbled. The four of us sat at the table and got to know each other. Lisa is so sweet and understanding and the twins are hilarious. Everything was going well until I realized that I had to go home.

"What's wrong?" Ethan asked. We had gone back up to his room and he was making his bed. He must have noticed me spacing out.

"You do realize that I have to go home right?"

"Ya. I can drop you off." He didn't seem to get it. I walked across the room and stood in front of him.

"That's not the point. I have to face my brother." I crossed my arms. I know Will won't approve of us being... whatever we are.

"Well, he has no right to interfere with us, and I'll make sure he doesn't." Ethan crossed his arms sassily.

"Just please don't do anything stupid." I put my hand on his cheek.

"Me? Stupid? Please..." he laughed and pulled me into his chest. "I'll protect you." He muttered with his forehead to mine. I looked up into his eyes and his face formed into a smile.

"Are you ready to go home?" He asked after a few seconds.

"Now or never."

Ethan's POV
I led Nessa out of the house and out to my car after she said her goodbyes. We talked the whole car ride home, but the second we pulled into the driveway, she went silent, like the school Vanessa.

"Everything will be okay." I reassured her and took her hand as we walked up the driveway.

"Hello? Anybody home?" Vanessa shouted as we stepped into her house. It was completely trashed still and smelled like B.O.

We walked around the house and didn't find anything. When we got into the living room, Will was there passed out on the couch.

"Will?" Vanessa gently shook his shoulder. He woke up and wiped his face off.

"What's going on?" He looked from Vanessa then to me behind her. When he saw us holding hands he jumped off the couch.

"What the hell is this?!"

"Chill out Will, it's okay!" Nessa put her hand out to try and calm him down.

"No!" He slapped her hand down. That was enough for me to lose it.

"Don't fucking touch her!" I growled and stepped in front of Vanessa who put her hands on my back. Instead of getting mad, Will smiled.

"I knew it. Ethan Dolan, the 'coolest kid in school' has a crush on Vanessa, the president of loserville!"

"You're damn right." Ethan crossed his arms. It made me smile a bit, which I wish I wouldn't have done.

"Are you smiling?" Will said to me. "You actually believe that? You really think he has feelings for you?" My smile faded.

"Vanessa, don't listen to him." Ethan turned to me and put his hands on my shoulder. "Vanessa you know that's bullshit."

Ethan's POV
Will pulled me away from Vanessa. By the look on her face I could tell she believed Will. "Ethan?" She questioned. "Are you lying to me?"

"Of course not Nessa! How could you believe him?" I don't know why she would doubt me after all I've done for her. It's obvious that Will has a way of getting in her head.

"Vanessa, it doesn't seem logical that a guy like him would EVER like a girl like you." Will laughed. Vanessa nodded. She actually agrees with him?

"Excuse me." She said and pushed past Will and I.

"Vanessa please." I grabbed her wrist to stop her.

"I just need some time to think." She said, and I let her go up to her room. Once I heard the door close, I let my anger out.

"You're a piece of shit." I spat at Will.

"You're lucky the seasons over, you'd be off the team for fucking with my sister if it wasn't." Will spat back.

"I would NEVER hurt Nessa, never in a million years." I told him.

"We'll see about that." Will pushed past me.

"I WONT." I said firmly.

"She's more fragile than you think." He scoffed.

"And I wonder whose fault that is." I said sarcastically. Will stopped in his tracks and turned to face me. I've never seen so much fire in his eyes. He charged me and stopped and inch from my face.

"You think it's my fault that she's all fucked up?" He spat angrily. "Ever seen our mom?" I shook my head. "Right, she's never here."

"Ever heard about our dad?" Will's voice cracked as he said this. I stayed silent.

"Right, he's... why don't you ask Nessa about it at school tomorrow." Will couldn't finish what he was saying. "But until then, get the fuck out of my house." He pointed back towards the door. I scoffed and left as quickly as possible.

Why did he get so pissed when I said Vanessa is screwed up cause of him?

What happened to their dad?
