You never forget the first time you do something big, like your first kiss or when you loss your virginity or your kill. I never will.
The image of Levi's death plays over and over in my head every time I close my eyes. This fact made it virtually impossible to get any sleep. I haven't seen Keecho at all, in the time I've been back. I haven't spoken to Annie or Meza much, just a quick hello or goodbye. Then I've just locked myself in my room.
I heard soft knocking coming from the door, I guessed it was just Meza or Annie trying to get me to go out of the house, so I yelled through the door, "Go away! I'm not going out!"
"You don't have to, just let me in." Keecho's voice said, sweetly. I ran to the door and opened it immediately.
"You're back..." I said hugging him tightly, he picked me up carrying me to the bed.
"You look horrible," he said examining the state I was in, "have you slept at all, and you're all skin and bones. Did you even eat at all?"
"A little, I wasn't really hungry and I haven't slept because I-I keep h-having n-n-nightmares." I said slowly breaking down and starting to cry again.
"Shh, it's fine. Let the tears flow, I've got you now." Keecho said running his hand through my hair and rocking me back and forth in his arms. "Will you be able to sleep if I sleep with you?" He whispered to me, "Or would you like to talk about what happened, either way works for me."
"Would... you... sleep... w-with me? I choked out between sobs. He nodded and tucked us both into the bed. In his arms he rocked me into a dreamless sleep and I finally had some peace.

The next morning I was still in Keecho's arms, but he had sat up and was now reading a book.
"What are you reading?" I asked, still half asleep.
"A book about a scientist, she studies the earth. I like it, but it can get boring at times." He said not looking away. I sat up, so to get a better look, and tried to read some of the words on the page, but I couldn't. There where so many I didn't understand. I puffed my cheeks out in frustration and Keecho started laughing.
"What?!" I said defensively.
"You're just really cute when you do that."I blushed and looked down. "What's making you puff out your cheeks like that?"
"I can't read most words on that page." I said quietly, pulling my knees up to my chest.
"It's fine I'll teach you." He said, "Which ones don't you know, point to them."
I pointed to the first word I didn't recognize and he explained it, then I pointed to another and he explained that one too. We stayed like that for the rest of the afternoon, him explaining the words and me pointing them out. One of the maids had brought us launch, for the first time in a while I ate a healthy amount.
Later, after Keecho had finished explaining a chapter of the book, Meza came in and asked for a word alone with him.
"Sure, please hold on for a little bit while I talk to her," Keecho said holding my chin, caught in his trace I nodded, "good." Then he left with her, I picked up his abandoned book and flipped to the first page, determined to read it by myself.
"When you walk you walk on the ground..." I read slowly, "you leave in-invis-invisable f-foot prints."
Keecho came back in the room and I immediately dropped the book. I tried to act as though I wasn't doing anything, but he saw right through my act. "What'cha doing?" He asked playfully.
"N-nothing," I answered sheepishly, bowing my head.
"Doesn't sound like it was nothing, would you like me to help you read again?" He sat down next to me and picked up his book again.
"Um... no, but I would like to... read to you." I whispered the last part.
"Anything you would like dear," Keecho said sweetly kissing the top of my head.
By now the maids had brought another meal and we were still reading, I had gotten pretty good at it. The best part of all this was; I haven't thought about his murder at all and after I finally got a good nights sleep with no nightmares. 'I think I can live like this,' I thought falling into a peaceful sleep.
~~~
The next morning we ate eggs, pancakes, and bacon. It was all so good! The best part was that Keecho had stayed with me all night and was still there in the morning when I woke up. Which was a really big surprise.
"What did you and Meza talk about?" I asked, mouth full of food.
"Nothing you need to worry about, though I do have to ask if you would like to continue investigating for me. Just know that what ever you choose is fine and I will support you." He said becoming very serous.
"I would like to continue helping you, but I don't want to get hurt, or hurt anyone, anymore. What should I do? I'm confused, please help." I asked, feeling dumb.
"It's fine just take you time and think through it." Keecho said ruffling my hair. I smiled and nodded. The there was a knock on the door, "Come in."
"May I talk to Yoru for a little?" Meza said entering the room, "Keecho you can stay if Yoru would like." She smiled turning to me.
"I'll talk to her alone, please." I said quietly.
"That alright with you?" she asked Keecho.
"I'll leave now, then- if you need me, you know my number." And with that he left and Meza sat down.
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked.
"Do you know the two, most common, things people do after their first killing?" I shook my head, uneasily having a feeling I knew where this conversion was going. She held up two fingers, wiggling them back and forth as she talked, "Well, the first one is they completely hate murder and death and never want to do it again or they love the feeling of it and go on a killing rampage. Are you able to guess which route I choose?"
