The next time I woke, Keecho had already left- and the cuts on my back were half healed, too- but he had left a note, addressed to me. It read:
The club; Masks n Roses. 2947, my driver will take you there. P.S. Take your mask and wear it any time you're inside- you'll be kicked out if you don't.
I heard the phone ring and I ran to pick it up. An iterated women's voice told me that I had I car waiting for me. I hung up, grabbed my mask and a cute outfit, then ran down stairs to find the lady at the desk, really pissed talking to the driver from yesterday.
"I did my job! Get the fuck out of my face!" She yelled pointing to me then pushing him.
"It took you long enough, bitch!" He spat, grabbing my wrist and pulled me out to the car- kicking and screaming that is.
He shoved me into the car, closed the door, got in his side, and started the car. The sun just started to set and I knew it would take awhile to get to that side of town- the side I've lived on for most of my life.
A right turn, then a left, then straight for awhile, then more lefts and rights and I soon forgot what turns he made or what streets he turned down. I started to doze off, resting my head on my arm up against the window. I woke with messy hair and a buzzing arm, the driver shook me till I woke up. I got out of the car and as immediately met with the sight of a normal store front, the small light-up sign read: Masks n Roses in bold, red letters with a theater mask on one side and a rose on the other. The only odd thing about it was it had no windows and a steel door.
"Hey kid, put on your mask," He said slipping on his own. It covered both his eyes but only covered one side of his face, I slipped on my own- loving the felling of not having anyone know who I really was. He knocked twice on the door and then a pause then seven times and it swung wide open. Music and smells asphalted my senses making me put my hands over my ears.
"Who's the kitten?" A bulky man said letting us in.
"A new customer."
"Okay, need anything else?"
"Yeah, a lot of beer and some food."
"Coming right up." The bulky one said, walking behind the counter and handing the driver a beer.
"Yo, kitten!" The diver said, drinking a little of his beer.
"I have a name you know..." I mumbled, walking over.
"Go to the dance floor, you'll most likely to find him there. Be warned though, many people will hit on you and do things, but holler and I have to come running. It's what I get paid for." He said, downing the last of his glass.
I walked over to the loudest area and started swaying with the music, like my stripper days taught me to. It was hard to find anyone in the dark and the black lights flashing didn't help either. I pulled the photo out of my pocket and studied it as a closely as I could, trying to find any defining features about him that a mask wouldn't cover up. I noticed he had small scales on either sides of his face, I hoped they would reflect the black light.
After that I started looking for anything that reflected, most of it was jewelry or masks that had glitter attached to them.
I felt big hands grip my waist had I smelt alcohol on their breath, he whispered in my ear in a husky voice, "You're pretty cute, want to come back to my place?" I spun around to look at the mystery person, he was wearing a neon green half mask. His eye that I could see had a slit for a pupil and scales on the side of his face.
"I was thinking you would come to mine." I said as sexually as possible.
"That sounds wonderful." He hissed out the 's' in the the words.
"My driver's over there," I said pulling him towards the driver, swaying my hips a little. He obediently followed, I remember it was this easy to pick up guys to help me pay my bills. "I'm ready to go," I said pulling on the driver's shoulder.
"Got it, back to the house?" He asked leading us outside and to the car- which was parked farther away then I remember.
We got in and my guest pulled me into passionate kiss. I knew that this was for Keecho so I kissed back. Even with that thought in mind, it was still disgusting, he reeked of alcohol.
We finally got there and I pulled him out and into the building, then to the elevator and to my room. I pushed him into the living room the locked the door, Meza came out from nowhere and hand cuffed him.
"You owe us something and I'm here to collect." She said bending him over and whispering in his ear, then smiling evilly. "Oh!" she said noticing I was still here, "Yoru, you might want to go to your room this could get ugly." I quickly ran off down the hall, worrying by what Meza meant when she said 'This could get ugly.' Hurrying I didn't notice what room I had turned into, but I didn't exactly care- I just wanted to get away from any and all violence.
I slid down the door and landed on the floor, then I heard chuckling coming from the bed and I looked up. Keecho was sitting there looking though a folder.
"Tough day?" He laughed, setting it down.
"Kind of.." I mumbled. He gestured for me to come over and I happily did as I was told. I knelled down by his bed, he grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me and held me in place, I heard a loud male scream and I wanted to crawl under the bed or lock myself in a closet. Keecho saw my discomfort and put something in my ears, it was weird but the screams stopped.
He pulled me under the covers, whispered something I couldn't hear, and I eventually fell into a dull, restless, but quiet, sleep.
