Victoria goes to the gym where Jay and Carlos are probably training. She tries to decide if she should leave Jeremy behind but she knows he'd never agree and he'd be right, her life is important. She sighs and signals Jeremy to shadow her, a skill he's very good at. It involves him basically becoming a shadow, he has some magic of his own so it's not even hard for him to disappear.
Victoria arrives at the gym and catches the end of their work out. Everyone grabs a towel to wipe their sweaty faces and they head to the changing rooms. Carlos stays behind to talk to Jane about Cotillion but he's basically friend zoned and Victoria has a feeling it's not the first time she does it.
"Well that went smooth" Victoria joked when Jane is gone, Carlos spins around and smiles when he sees her
"Victoria!" He yells and pulls her into a big hug
"You've gotten stronger" Victoria nods as he lifts her a bit from the ground
"Yeah" he says a hug embarrassed "so what are you doing here?"
"I was invited to Cotillion" Victoria smiles and ruffles his hair, he's changed it, it's longer and straight instead of wavy and short. It doesn't look half bad.
"Right" Carlos laughs "where's Daniel?
"He went to visit his parents" Victoria explains as Jay emerges from the changing rooms "he'll be back in time for the dance"
"Oh and so are you two married now?" Carlos asks and Jay falters, Victoria blushes a little and but shakes her head
"Not yet" she whispers
"Oh well I thought he was smarter than that" he says making her smile
"Thanks" Victoria mumbles "but actually there's a reason why I'm here"
"Is everything okay?" Jay asks standing beside Carlos
"No" Victoria sighs "Mal has gone back to the isle. Ben wants to go to get her back so Evie and I are going with him. But we also need you two, you know bigger is better" they both nod. At the isle everyone walks in packs because the lone wolves usually don't last too long.
"We'll go change" Carlos says serious now
"We're meeting Evie and Ben at the limo in ten minutes" Victoria says as they hurriedly walk towards their dorm room. They nod and Victoria waits outside their door while they change
"My queen is it wise for you to go as well?" Jeremy asks stepping out from the shadows
"She's my friend too Jeremy" Victoria says biting her thumb nervously "I know what the sudden change from nothing to royalty feels like. It's terrifying"
"I don't think it's wise to go" Jeremy argues "they have enough people going"
"We have to look out for each other" Victoria says calmly "the children of isle always look out for each other. Even if we don't all get along" Jeremy nods, he knows Victoria is very stubborn so instead of trying to talk her out of it he hands her one of his daggers
"Just in case" he says and she smiles
"Thanks Jeremy I'll take care of it" Victoria smiles
"Ruby" Jeremy says
"What?"
"The daggers name is Ruby" Jeremy says
"Of course" Victoria nods and bows her head in apology "forgive me" Jeremy's people name everything they own because nothing they own is the same, everything is unique so it deserves its own name.
"You need not apologize my Queen" he says bowing lower than her. Victoria puts the dagger on her hip where it hides beneath her shirt. Jay and Carlos emerge at that moment, dressed for the isle in biker like outfits. Very appropriate.
"Ready?" Victoria asks and Jeremy melts back into the shadows
"Yeah" Carlos says they're both grim faced
"Lets go" Victoria says and they head to the garage where the limo is parked. Evie and Ben arrives seconds after them. Ben is now dressed in a dark blue outfit with a leather jacket and chains on his jeans, he has a beanie on his head and Evie despite feeling nervous looks pleased with herself.
"Nice job" Victoria says and Evie smiles. They all get in the limo, Jay is at the wheel and Ben beside him, Carlos sits in the back with Evie and Vcitoria
"Since when do you drive?" Victoria asks as he pulls out
"Pff you underestimate me Victoria" Jay scoffs "on the isle there may not have cars but I'm a fast learner. When they took us out of the isle I may or may not have borrowed the royal car a couple of times"
"For girls?" Carlos assumes
"Yup" Jay responds and they laugh a little, the air is very tense but they're doing their best to lighten it. Ben presses the control that opens the bridge and their smiles fade. They're really going back to the isle, back home. Evie swallows hard and starts fidgeting with her hands. Victoria grabs them and gives her a small squeeze
"We're coming back Evie" Vcitoria whispers to her "everyone is going back to Auradon, I give you my word"
"Thank you" Evie smiles. Their arrival is a bit rocky due to the horrible driving conditios of the isle. Jay goes to an alley near the docks big enough for the limo and it has a direct escape route. When the car stops they get out and cover it in tarps. It won't fool anyone but it'll draw a bit less attention and besides, no one goes there. Uma is much too close for anyones comfort though.
Uma. Victoria sighs, it's been a while since she's seen Uma, Harry and Gil. Those three were almost as infamous as Jay, Mal, Evie and Carlos but not quite to their level. Ursula, Hook and Gaston weren't as important as Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella and the Evil Queen. If Mal and Uma meet again, that's gonna be entertaining.
"Let's go find Mal" Vcitoria says
