"Seeing the sunrise?" A voice in darkness asks scaring Victoria. She whips out Ruby and poises herself for attack. Out from the shadows Jeremy appears
"I could have killed you" Victoria scolds him
"I doubt it" Jeremy says raising an eyebrow
"Your cockiness is going to get you killed one day" Victoria grumbles and puts away Ruby
"Your recklessness is what will kill me my Queen" Jeremy frowns "why are you helping her?"
"She's family" Victoria answers simply "we look out for each other"
"But you almost killed Harry" Jeremy says confused
"He is not family" Victoria hisses "family doesn't do what he did"
"But Uma tried to hurt Mal" Jeremy continues
"She would never kill Mal" Victoria explains "like I said, we're family. We might not get along perfectly but we won't kill those who belong to the family"
"You are a strange person my queen" Jeremy shakes his head "your motives sometimes confuse me"
"My motives right now are protecting my family" Victoria sighs "but I also like a little chaos. Still waters bore me, don't you agree?" Jeremy smiles
"I do my Queen" he says bowing
"We must go" Victoria says continuing to walk towards the castle "the dance is tonight and I am eager to see what happens"
After breakfast Victoria gets dressed in simple jeans, boots and a blue shirt. She checks on Jay and he's doing fine, the healers really are something. His wounds have healed nicely and he'll be able to attend Cotillion. Victoria decides to walk in the garden. She's smelling some roses when Carlos walks past her
"Hey Carlos" Victoria smiles
"Hey Victoria" Carlos says wringing his hands
"Is everything okay?" Victoria asks a bit worried
"Well I'm about to ask Jane to the dance" Carlos says blushing
"Well here's your chance" Victoria smiles as she sees Jane approaching them
"Maybe later" Carlos says turning around but Victoria grabs him by the scruff of his neck and turns him around
"You better not run" Victoria smiles "hey Jane" she says turning to her
"Hey" Jane smiles back and keeps talking on her phone "no I said the blue banners and green napkins to go with Mal and Ben's eye colors"
"Jane" Carlos says
"Hey Carlos" Jane smiles "no I said no daisies" she argues into her phone
"Jane" Carlos tries again "would you like to..." he turns to Victoria who nods "go to the dance with me?"
"Yeah everyone's going together" Jane smiles "we're meeting at my room if you want to join us"
"No I mean would you go with me?" Carlos says
"Yeah sure" Jane says and argues on the phone
"This is going to be harder than I thought" Carlos mumbles Victoria snatches the phone from Jane
"You two talk I'll sort out your problems" Victoria smiles and walks away giving orders into the phone. Carlos turns to Jane his hands are sweating
"Jane would you go to Cotillion with me" Carlos starts "as my date?"
"Date?" Jane asks surprised
"I really like you" Carlos smiles "and I've been meaning to ask you to the dance since I knew it was a thing"
"Oh" Jane says softly
"Of course if you don't want to go," Carlos says quickly
"No no!" Jane cries scaring Carlos "no of course I'll go with you. I ... I really like you too" Carlos beams at Jane who's blushing like crazy
"And maybe after the dance we could be more than just friends?" Carlos says pushing his luck
"You mean like girlfriend and boyfriend?" Jane squeals happily "yes! I'd really like that"
"Great" Carlos smiles "I'll uhh pick you up at eight"
"Okay" Jane smiles happily they stand there awkwardly until Jane steps forward and kisses him on the lips. It's a quick kiss but when they pull back they're bright red as tomatoes
"Everything's taken care of" Victoria says smiling and hands Jane her phone "now all you have to worry about is your date for tonight" Jane blushes even more
"How did you...?" Jane asks
"I know all" Victoria smiles
"Well I have to go" Jane smiles "I'll see you tonight"
"See you" Carlos smiles and Jane leaves
"Success?" Victoria asks Carlos who hugs her
"Success" he smiles and then his smile drops "now what am I going to wear?"
"Go ask Evie" Victoria suggests and Carlos runs off. Victoria smiles after Carlos and two hands cover her eyes
"Guess who?" The person behind her asks
"Mhh let me guess" Victoria smiles "is it a hideous troll with rotting teeth?"
"It's your Prince Charming my Queen" he whispers in her ear
"I missed you" Victoria says turning around and burying her face in Daniel's chest
"Not as much as I missed you Tori" Daniel smiles and buries his face in her hair. Victoria leans back and Daniel kisses her
"Are you ready for the dance?" She asks as they walk back to the castle
"I'm ready for anything if you're by my side" Daniel says and kisses her
"That's was very cheesy" Victoria chuckles
"I know but you loved it" Daniel says hugging her to his side
"I love you" Victoria smiles
"I love you too"
