Chapter 13: Gale's POV

Chapter 13

Gale's POV

I was randomly walked around camp with Katnip. At some points pretty girls would wave to me and smile. I'm not sure why though, "Where are we going?" Katnip asked,

"I"m not sure." I said. It was dark out, and everyone was walking toward a Green? Fire. I took a seat next to Nico Di Angelo. Katnip sat next to me. I blushed, I was happy she was sitting next to me. Suddenly the fire grew a little. I looked at Nico, "What is with this fire? It doesn't look right."

"When your happy it grows." He simply said. I nodded slowly and looked back at the fire. Who was singing? Their terrible! Katnip looked at me,

"What's wrong Gale?" She asked,

"Huh?" I looked at her,

"You have a disgusted look on your face."

"It's the singing." I said shrugging. She laughed and the fire grew. I smiled, I love her laugh. I looked back, Thalia was talking to Chiron. I quickly slipped away from the fire and toward Thalia and Chiron with out anyone noticing me. Did I mention that I'm a master of disguise. Well, next to Peeta. I  heard Thalia talking quickly to Chiron,

"Although what happens if Artemis is mad that I left, what if those mortals arn't aloud in the school? What if there is a war and they all die?" Thalia asked shaking a little,

"Did you hear what you said," Chiron asked, "You said, 'what if' and if, usually means that it won't happen." Thalia nodded slowly,

"Although the Artemis thing is partly true." She said, "And how will I get there anyways?" She asked,

"Hermes, Apollo, and Artemis said they'll bring you." He said,

"Why can't we just bring Katniss and her friends then?" She whined,

"Because we need to explain some things to them." Chiron said calmly, "You'll leave next week." Chiron walked back to the camp fire calmly leaving Thalia hanging.

"Hey." I said quietly, Thalia jumped and looked at me,

"What are you doing?" She asked,

"I just want to say sorry, we got off on the wrong foot." I said, I held out my hand, "Let's start over, my name is Gale Hawthorne, I'm a miner of district 12 and hater of the capital." She slowly shook my hand,

"Thalia Grace, immortal." She said,

"Cool." I said, "What's it like being immortal." I really didn't want to know, although I needed to get on this girl's good side,

"Well, it feels like the world is slowing down." Thalia said shrugging, "What about you? What's it like in district 12?"

"Terrible, no food, 3 other siblings, and not to mention the hunger games." I said

"What's the hunger games?" She asked,

"It's when 24 children from each district get put into a arena to battle to the death until one is left." I said, "And it's all for the capital's amusement." I added.

"That's terrible! Have you ever been in it?"

"I'm glad to say no. Although Katnip and Peeta have." I said, "Last year too."

"I thought you said until one is left." Thalia said frowning,

"I did, although Katnip tricked the gamemaker and she made them make a choice, either they both died. Or they both won." I said,

"Who's Katnip?" She asked,

"You know, Katnip Everdeen?" I said,

"Oh," Thalia said understanding what I said, "You mean Katniss." She smiled a little,

"Who's Katniss?" I asked, "I think you mean Katnip." I corrected.

"Sure." She said grinning.

"Although you said something about bringing me, Katnip, and Peeta somewhere." I said trying to get the answer,

"Oh, something about a wizard school." Thalia simpily said,

"A what?" I said,

"Well, when hea- you know what, never mind all you need to know is that wizards are real."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Although why do we need to go?"

"Apparently you need to help us in a war."

"Although were already fighting in our own war."

"Yeah, although apparently you'll be a huge help."

"Really?"

"Sure, and I heard your good with knives and tracking."

"Yeah." I was blushing a little, "It's acutally really easy, especally with traps."

"You should show me some time."

"Yeah, although while I was at dinner, I saw people eating really weird stuff."

"Weird? You were eating a squirl!"

"It was good. And where I live, Katnip and I have to hunt for our food. And we also need enough to feed our families."

"That seems like a hard life."

"Yeah, it is." I nodded sadly, "Although I don't think this place could be much worse."

"Well, we are in America and there are no hunger games here."

"I wanna live here." Thalia laughed, man, he laugh was amazing. Snap out of it Gale! But she was kind of pretty...

Thalia's POV

Gale was some what cute. Thalia Grace! What are you saying! He's going to teach me how to trap... "Thalia?" Gale asked, I just realized I was staring into his beautiful eyes. Who can blame me? I looked away blushing. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I whipped around, Phoebe was standing there,

"We've got them now. What are we supposed to do?" She asked,

"Bring them to Artemis, tell her we've been tracking them for at least a month now and I've sent them to her. They've been a lot of trouble with us! And I've had patients my with them." I said, "And make sure Apollo doesn't get his hands on them. Because for him, he'll go right into their trap."

"Got it." She started to turn, "Are you coming Thalia?" She asked,

"Yeah, hold on a second." I said, I turned to face Gale, "I'll be back tomorrow, show me then." I said quickly before running after Phoebe blushing like crazy. I knew he scared me before, although now, he's just plain old cute. What happened? And where's Thalia? A voice in my head said. I walked up to the cage, "So." I said, "We've finally caught 'em." There were three girls, they had backpacks on their backs and they were wearing hoods, "The sack monsters." They all looked up at me, for a man. They would have been beautiful. That's how they get their pray, "You've been taking my hunters." I said standing up taller, "And now your going to see Artemis." I didn't want them to be messing up with our things.
