Chapter 24

Harry's POV

I walked out onto the quidditch field, waiting for the other sudents to get here so I could start tryouts. I needed a good team, It was clear that Clarisse would be beater. Although I'm still going to look at everyone else, just to see if they're cut out for the job. I still need a beater and a keeper. Then we'll have a full team. Katie is in her last year, so she's still on the team. And Ginny is the second chaser. But, Wood and Angelina left, as well as the twins. So, we still have a lot of practice to do. Ginny came out with her broom, in her Gryffindor Chaser clothes. She stood next to me,

"They'll be coming out soon." She whispered. I nodded a thanks to her, right as Grover came trotting up to us, his shoe falling off in the process. He had to go back and get it, although he made it to us before the other's came out.

"Can I watch?" He asked, breathless.

"Sure, go into the stands." I said pointing at where the other's -who were watching the tryouts- were. He nodded to me, before running up to sit next to Ron who was looking at everyone greedily. The other students came marching out. I looked at all of them. Some of them seemed cut-out for this. Although most of the others... just, no. They were all chatting amongst themselves. "Okay! We'll start out today-" I started, although realized no one was listening. "Hello!" I shouted louder this time, it didn't work.

"Shut it!" Ginny's voice overpowered mine. The field was silent.

"You're going to tell me what you all think you should do, we only have three places left. Try your hardest. And, good luck to all of you." I said nodding to them, I walked over to the chest, opening it, and handing the quaffle to Ginny. "Chasers follow Ginny!" I shouted as she walked away with the ball. I took the two bats out and held them, as I saw four beaters come toward me. I recognized three of the four easily. There was Caleb Koller, I've talked to him at least once or twice, he's muggleborn. Grant McGarvery, he's a Pureblood wouldn't have been surprised if he was in Slytheryn. He would've been good there, always showing off, and shoving his purebloodness up peoples noses. The third was Hillary Walberg, she was another Muggleborn. Sweet, and cheerful, I doubt she's cut out for a beater. Then the next person I didn't know, but I was just as shocked to see. I'm sure I've seen her in some of the same classes as me, although she strikes me as the shy, little girl who always has her head in a book, or study's. Kinda like Hermione, although she isn't perfect in all of her study's. She doesn't look like the one who would hold a bat in her hand, about to hit a kid in the head. She has a small body, short legs and arms, I would understand if she is a seeker, although she wants to be a beater? She has a light tan casting over her body, and brilliant sky blue eyes. She had black hair with blond streaks in it. She looks a little over 5 feet. In other words, she's tiny. I stared at her for a moment, before turning my attention to the other three. I shoved the two bats in their hands, "Share." I said, nodding for them to go. The two keepers were already at different sides of the field, while the chasers tried to get their ball through the hoop. I turned my stare back at the short girl. "What's your name again?" I asked curiously.

"I'm Melody Sunshine, don't you remember me? We have all the same classes." She said raising her eyebrows at me as if trying to get me to remember. "I was in Dumbledore's Army." And that was what clicked my mine.

"Oh! Right!" I said suddenly remembering, before I looed at her confused, "What are you doing? Trying out for a beater?" I asked. Although I couldn't stop the short laugh that escaped from my lips.

"What? You don't think I'm cut out for a beater?" She asked raising her voice a little, shoving her head up, trying to stand taller.

"No." I answered honestly. She sent an icy glare in my direction that sent shivers down my spine.
