Chapter 19
Percy's POV
After we got off the train, we got into some carriages pulled by horses. Why is that dude staring at us? One horse asked, I just ignored it and got into the carriage. I found myself with Grover, Annabeth, Harry, Hermione, and Ron again. Annabeth was like, drooling over the architecture of Hogwarts. Ha, she said I drooled a lot! By the time we got there, the other students were filing into a hall. I was about to step into the 'Great Hall', as Harry said it was called, all the other demigods were behind us, and we were in the back of the.... clump of wizards. And 'Professor' McGonagall stopped us. "You might want to wait here." She said.
"Huh?" Was the only word that came out of my mouth.
"You can't just go with Mr. Potter." She said, "You must first be sorted into your houses." I remember Hermione told us about the houses at one point on the train. Usually when you first get to Hogwarts, you'd get sorted. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Hermione also said that a hat decided. No offense, although I really don't want my future to depend on a... hat. Annabeth nodded and the Professor walked into the great hall. We all shuffled to the sides and waited. I couldn't see anyone. Although I started hearing music. Like someone singing. I poked my head into the Hall and saw a hat. On a stool. Moving. Singing. I quickly stuck my head back in.
"What's that?" Leo asked pointing toward the Hall.
"The Great Hall." Annabeth answered, "Did you know that-"
"Got it!" Leo said rolling his eyes. I grinned.
"Are we going to go in?" A voice asked as applause broke out in the Hall. Grover said it.
"What do you mean?" I asked,
"I mean, that they might not want Tyson and I to go in."
"Why wouldn't they?" Leo asked,
"Because remember what Professor McGonagall said, she said that we shouldn't tell them what we are yet, because... well, I'm not so sure about that, although if Tyson walks in than we might give a huge amount of ourselves away." Annabeth nodded.
"That's a smart idea." Annabeth said, "Although, we should ask them, just to make sure." I suddenly heard names being called out.
"Griffendore!" "Hufflepuff!" "Slytherin!" The voice would say.
"Do you think that's the hat?" Piper asked, "The one that sorts us?" Ginny must've told them too. Not that I didn't want them to know.
"Most likely." Grover said. Suddenly the doors opened a tiny bit and a small little man came out. He had long hair, blue eyes, and a crooked nose. He stared at us as his cat circled around Frank.
"Professor McGonagall told me to keep the Cyclops and Satyr behind." The man croaked, "What ever that means." He mumbled at the end. Tyson and Grover started to inch away from the group, "Now," The man continued, "You'll probably go in, in about 4 seconds... 3... 2..." Suddenly a voice boomed inside.
"We're having friends from America come here to stay with us. They will learn with you, and maybe teach you something. And, here they are!" Suddenly the doors opened and light exploded in my face. In the Hall, I could see one man, who was standing behind a long table which was sitting on a platform. He was smiling slightly, he looked about 500 years old, I slowly walked forward. I glanced all around me, we were walking in between four tables, two at our sides, and there was one thing I noticed. One table, they all had... I don't know, something blue? On their cloaks. I glanced down at my own clothes, I just realized that we were the only people not wearing the cloaks. We all piled into a clump in front of a stool where a hat was sitting peacefully on. Professor McGonagall pulled out a long piece of parchment and looked at it.
