Matthew's POV ( Katie's husband )
----------------------------------------------
"Daaaaad! Dad ! Dad!" I heard my daughter scream.
" I'm in here Annie. What is it?"
A teary eyed Annie ran into the room.
" Mum's plane has been hijacked. She didn't sound hopeful. Dad she can't die ! Please she can't . I know I scream about how much I hate her but she still can't be gone , I need her. " she continued I could sense the desperation in her voice.
She lost her grace that split second. The grace she had trained many years to master in her ballet class. I saw her slouch now like the burden had been placed on her shoulder.
" Young lady don't slouch." I said , just like her mum would have. I missed her.
I tried to call her but there was no signal. I called the rest of the children into the room and broke the news to them. They were hurt but they didn't show it , their groomers had taught them how to mask their emotions and they were good at it.
" Dad ?" Kurt, the youngest, said.
" Yes son ?"
"Who is this person called Jesus mum is talking about? Is he a superhero? How will he save her?" He asked.
" I don't know. Does anyone have an idea?" I asked looking at my children.
Rebecca's hand shot up.
"Yes Becca?"
"Jesus is God's son. He was sent to the earth to die for man as a sacrifice for our sins. He died even though He knew we might reject him. And-" she was interrupted by Annie.
"-I think we should ask google instead. She's just a seven year old and besides how can God care for us to send His son when we never talk to him?"
" Besides God is the owner of the whole universe , why would he care about us little humans? " Kurt added.
" I think we should ask google. Thanks Becca , you are beautiful!" I said and gave her a hug. ' Positive reinforcement is always a plus' I repeated to myself because my therapist was never wrong.
As I popped open my laptop I remembered the dire situation at hand.
" Mum first children. We need to try and find her first" I said.
" What if God can help us find her?" Kurt said.
All these questions about God got me dizzy , I had never been the one not to have an answer to a question. I was the smart one and I needed to remain smart - at least smarter than my seven year old at the moment. As far as I knew every hijacking has to have a motive and these people have not reached out for a negotiation- strange. I opened my tracking software and could not pin point Katie's phone.
"I'm calling the police" Annie said.
"I'll call Scott, the CIA agent from the country club" I said
" I'll call God" Becca said.
Here He was again-God. Why were we so intent on finding Him too?
