"Hi Dylan. I know it's 5am and you're still sleeping but I miss you. I'm about to head off to work. I'll try and call you when I'm free. Okay bye Oluwatobs," I said into the phone.
I ran the hot shower over my head and relaxed as the steam rose off my body. I heard my phone ring and I tiptoed out of the shower. It was Kyle.
"Hi Kyle"
"Hi Annie. I was having trouble sleeping and I just needed to talk to someone," he said.
"I'm listening," I said ignoring the fact that I still hadn't rinsed off.
"I got my mum to drop the case-"
"-Yeah, thanks so much for that"
"It's alright. I was wondering...would like to come out for lunch today?"
"I would like to, but I work all day."
"I could bring lunch to you."
"I'm fine, thank you."
"Can I come over to talk then?"
"Sure. See you later," I said then dropped the phone. As I ran to the bathroom I slipped and laid on the floor laughing at myself till I tried to get up. I felt a sharp pain in my hip and I couldn't stand without pain. I simply laid on the floor in my towel and fell asleep.
"Annie! An! Babe!" I heard.
I slowly came out of my dream and realized Dylan was leaning over me. He ran out and got my dad. I was shocked out how fast he found him considering the size of my house.
"Annie, are you alright?" dad asked looking concerned.
I tried to tell them I was fine but I mumbled instead.
"I'm alright. I slipped," I finally said
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?"
"I'm fine. Fine. See I'll show you," I said trying to get up. I collapsed but before I could hit the ground Dylan caught me.
"I missed you," I said.
"Let's get her to the hospital," he said to my dad.
"No. I'm alright. I need to go to work, the collection is coming along." I objected in a barely audible tone.
"You're not going anywhere till you see a doctor," my dad said in a stern voice.
Dylan carried me out the house and into the car.
"Why didn't you just let me be?" I shouted but it came out as a whisper.
"I didn't want to lose you. You must have hit your head and you sound strange"
"No I don't..." I tried to say but before I could complete my sentence I had fallen asleep.
I woke up to the smell of bleach and disinfectants. I realized I was in the hospital.
"Ew. Get me out of here." I mumbled.
Dylan and Kyle came closer and smiled.
"Kyle? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"You forgot to drop the call and I heard you slip but I couldn't get to your house fast enough. Are you okay?" he asked.
"To be honest I'm alright. I just want to go to Haute Kouturá." I said.
"You've been protesting all day. I've called to let a bunch of people know you wouldn't be in. It's going to be alright. Smile, you're beautiful." Dylan said when he noticed I was frowning then pecked my cheek.
