Brit's POV..
"Hi boo boo," I said while twirling a strand of my gold locks. Dylan quickly cut me off and spilled out words that sounded like his same old threats.
"The attorney has dropped of the papers at your house and you will be held accountable for your actions if you do not abide by the laws,"
"I know, I know. My baby, your baby, rules and blah blah blah. What do you say we have dinner tonight?"
I hopped on my plush leather sofa and bit my bottom lip. The baby kept Dylan in my palms and I could turn him whichever way I wanted.
"I'm sorry, but I can't."
"Oh common babe, what else is going to keep me from the glass of wine I'm craving at the moment."
“Can you please hold on for now? Just for the baby?“
“-what do I get?”
“I’ll be with you at the next doctor’s appointment,” Dylan said.
I bopped up and down on my sofa and clapped my hands. I could sense the disappointment in his voice but I couldn’t help but be overjoyed. I knew that if I could get him around me again he would fall right back in love. What is not to love about his own child and it’s mother?
“Dylan, promise me?”
“I promise, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Umm, okay.”
“Omg, have you watched the fault in our stars? If so, you are so totally flirting with me at the moment!” I screamed. He laughed light heartedly, chatted for a little while and said to see me in a few days.
I relaxed on my bed and took a deep breath in. As I exhaled I felt all my nerves try to rush out with the air but it couldn’t. I thought I had everything I needed: the friends, the cars, the clothes and the money but I was wrong, I need love.
At first Dylan seemed like all the boys I had strung along, but somewhere in all that I started to feel bad about giving him the alcohol and my special punch. He practically begged for it each time he was around but I knew it was wrong to poison his system like I did mine, but I could not lose him. I knew he might stop coming back and run back to his old life if I stopped.
At that point Dylan had become my life. I could not let him slip away because he slathered me with all the attention I needed. His attention had become my addiction and my punch his. And that lead to this warm being of love growing in me: I was high from my punch mixed with attention and him from punch.

I fumbled about with my phone and checked the time. It was 7:30 am and the sun just started poking through the clouds. I dialed Dylan.
“Hi Dylan, I’m ready. I’ll be outside in a few minutes so we can catch breakfast first-“
“-sorry this is Annie. Dylan is asleep.” A strange voice replied.
I lost my breath for a moment but tried to put on a bold front.
“Oh, hi Annie! Dylan and I have somewhere to be so can you put my child’s father on the line please?”
She was about to speak but didn’t then I heard Dylan’s voice on the other end of the phone.
“I’ll be ready in ten minutes,” a sleepy Dylan said.
“Okay, bye hunny.”
