" I think you should come with me to one of my fellowship meetings" She said as she handed it over.
It had about a million pages - how was I supposed to read it all?!
"I should? But wouldn't your friends all gape at me and feel sorry for me like I'm an animal at a petting zoo. I'm tired of getting that everywhere I go especially at school. Even Dylan texts me like a hundred times a day- like he's on a suicide watch"I said.
Dylan is my best friend. He has broad shoulders, brown hair, green eyes and a blinding smile. He was the only one I could be myself around- that's if I even know who I am. The personal trainers had been present everyday since I was born and I had been moulded into the "perfect child" as my mum would repeat to the trainers each day when she came in for the daily inspection.
"Foundation?"
"Yes"
"Primer?"
"Yes"
"Mascara? Eyeshadow? Lipgloss?"
"Oui. Oui. Oui" I replied in French to my dictator otherwise known as my mum.
"Okay now, stand straight. Chest out. And don't forget to touch up your make-up at school. Bye bye now." She would say and give me a kiss.
"Of course not! They're all loving people" Madame Adrienne said and snapped me back to reality. "Okay, I'll think about it. What do I wear? Are designer outfits inappropriate because that's all I own. And what about my hair? Should it be up? Or down? Or-"
"Come as you are! The Lord loves you regardless" she said laughing.

D: 'Hi Anneie, how are you doing? Can't wait to see you today.'
Dylan texted me- the first of many. A part of me was happy to see me best friends' text but the other half of me was too emotionally drained to reply. I slipped my gold iPhone back into my Cèline bag and walked down the hallway to my locker.
" Hi Annie" Cookie said.
"Hi Cookie."
"So are you coming to the mall tonight with everyone? And is Dylan coming too?" she said winking.
"No , I've got a fellowship thing to go for." I said.
"Oh , you're a Christian now?!" She said with her eyes wide open. Cookie was a gossip and I was sure she would come up with some crazy fabrication.
"No. I don't know what I am , or what I'm doing" I said. I flipped open my phone and texted Dylan.
A: 'Hi Dylan. I'm good. I'm going out tonight and I need you there, can't be bored or lonely. Will you come? x'.
D: 'Sure. Where are we going? And what should I wear?
A: 'It's a surprise. Wear anything, preferably Christian Dior I don't want to look odd in designer clothing. And promise not to freak out.'
D: 'Sure. See you tonight at 7:00 pm'
"Who are you texting?" Cookie said peering at my phone.
"Just Dylan" I replied.
"Is he going to be there too?"
"Yes"
"Can I come?" She asked.
Cookie had been in love with Dylan for years and tried to be with him as much as possible.
"Sure. I have to go now. Bye Cookie" I said and hurried off.
A: 'Cookie is coming along tonight'
D: 'Oh, I guess that's alright'
I knew Dylan wasn't excited but I was glad to have two people I would know at the fellowship apart from Madame Adrienne and God- well I don't really know Him yet.
