Annie's POV.
-----------------
"Plié. Elevé. Assié vu. Bonjour mes belle filles" Madame Adrienne said.
It was another grilling lesson and if I had heard croisé one more time I would have pulled my hair out. Madame Adrienne walked over to me . She was so graceful it seemed as if she was gliding across the floor.
"Annie , are you alright? You missed your jumps-you never miss your jumps. And your back is arched , have you been slouching?" She said with a look of disapproval.
"Well , you know that plane that is on every news channel ? The one that is missing ? My mum was on it." I said.
"Oh no. That's horrible. I'm sorry Annie" she said and hugged me.
I was glad. I had not been in the warm embrace of a motherly figure in years, even when my mum was alive. A part of me wanted to hate her. A part of me thought she deserved what she got and was glad she was sorry. But a part of me still knew she was my mother and yearned for her. The tears began to sting but I knew I had to hold them in, John had taught me better and would be disappointed to see me cry in front of people. I tipped my head backwards and begged my tears to stay in and they agreed. My eyes were tired and red from the sleepless nights and the pillows soaked with tears but no one had to see that.
I am Annie Krista and I am strong and independent , I would not give anyone the pleasure of seeing me sad.
"Stay strong. I'll be praying for you" she said as she walked off.
"Adrienne? Are you Christian?"
"Yes. Why?"
"Do you have a Bible I can borrow? I need God to help me find my mum" I said nervously.
"Sure come with me to my car when I'm about to lock up,"
I swung my Gucci bag over my shoulder and followed Adrienne to her car after the last of the girls had filed out.
