A long time ago I was the perfect masterpiece
All different colors
Each a new one for you
And you'd smile every time you saw meSadly I couldn't do the same
So I ran off a cliff hoping to make you laugh
Strings attached to everything you do
Kept me from hitting things
You were to scared for me tooSo all my pieces dangle a dance with free falling
And sometimes I can't feel those strings keeping me there
And the end seems so near
I can imagine the way each single part will
Sound when it hits the cold hard ground
The way it will echo in
The silence you left me inIt would be deafening, so as I start to scatter
I scream I love you
Hoping to make you smile
Smile to pull on these strings
that kept me a float
Each word feeling like knives out of my throatBecause I know you won't
Not at all these broken pieces
Because they aren't as funny
As the prefect masterpiece
You thought I wasMaybe when I land
I'll make something beautiful
And you won't be so sad
