Lilly's POV
I sat next to Dom, stroking his lifeless hand. He was bandaged up and his family had already arrived. We were waiting for the doctor to come back with the results for his x-rays. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long.
"Mrs. Sandoval?"
"Yes," I say, along with his mom. I had forgotten that we were both Sandovals now.
"We have results from his x-rays. And we have good news. He has a broken arm, which we will put a cast on as soon as he wakes up. And the cuts aren't life threatening, which is why we bandaged them all up so he doesn't lose blood." says the young doctor. I smile and thank him. He leaves us alone.
"Dom? Dommy, if you can hear me, I just wanted to say that I love you so damn much. I'm nothing without you. You are the best father any kid could ever have. I want to grow old with you, and if you wake up right now, I promise you that we can have that dog that you've always wanted to have. I promise that I'll let you have some of my skittles when you come home. I want to be one of those old grandmas and grandpas that lived life to the fullest and have many grandkids and have Sunday night dinners. I want a life with you. I love you." My voice cracks and tears start to fall. One of them lands on Dom's hand. His hand twitches. I look up and see Dom's eyelids fluttering.
Dom's POV
My eyes open from their slumber. I look around, trying to figure out where I am. The hospital. I look at Lilly, who's rambling on and on, about how much she loves me and she'll let me have a dog and all of that good shit. She lifts her head and lets out a gasp. I give her a weak smile. Even though her mascara is running down her cheeks and her hair is a disaster, she looks so beautiful.
"Dom, Dommy. You're awake." She says, crying tears of joy.
I try to talk, but my voice comes out in squeaks.
"Lilly." I croak.
"Yes baby?" She responds.
"I love you." I whisper weakly.
She grabs my face in her hands and kisses it over and over again.
"Where's Jasmine?" I wonder.
"She's in the waiting room as well as your dad."
"Can I see her?" I ask.
Right then, the nurse comes in and sees that I'm awake.
"Oh, good. You're awake. Your daughter is here to see you."
"Daddy," says a familiar voice. Jasmine walks in and when she sees me, she starts crying. Lilly picks her up and consoles her.
"Mommy, " she cries. "Is daddy gonna be ok?" She says sniffing.
"Yes, baby. Daddy is going to be fine." Lilly replies as she wipes away her tears.
"Jasmine." I whisper.
"Daddy." She runs over and hugs me.
I stroke her hair.
"When are you coming home?"
"I'm not sure." I reply.
"Oh, well Mommy and I miss you so much."
"Aw, pumpkin. I miss you too."
"Ok, we're going to need everyone to please leave the room because we are now going to put on his cast." says the doctor, who appeared out of no where.
"Bye pretty boy." says Lilly as she smirks.
"Bye babe." I give her a toothy grin and they bring in all of the nessecary things that doctors use. First, they straighten my bone out and then do some other things. Finally, they put the cast on, along with a sling. My eyes grow heavy, and sleep starts to consume me, and I give in and fall asleep.
