Lilly's POV
"Jake, honey, are you ready to go to Aunty Lauren's house and play with Moosie?"
"Yes! I love Moosie." He runs up to me and hugs me and I kiss him on the head. Dom was already at the dance studio, and he let Jake have a day off today. And Jasmine? Well, I was pretty worried about her because she was going to start high school in a few months. And I could tell she was worried too, because at times she would either be quiet or thinking about something. So I took Jake to Lauren's house and he was having the time of his life. I later found out that Lauren and Alex had gotten married! I hugged her and congratulated her. We ended up talking for hours, until it was about dinner time. Jake was so upset when he had to leave Moose. He was crying and he was throwing fits.
"I don't wanna leave!"
"Well, I don't care. You're gonna listen to mommy or Santa will give you coal for Christmas!"
"Nooo!" He whines.
"Jake, if you stop crying and listen to mommy, daddy and I might take you to McDonald's."
"Really?"
"Mhm."
"Yay!!" He bounces in excitement. We go home and I thank Lauren for the great time and I go upstairs and hear someone crying. I tiptoe to Jasmine's door and hear her sobbing.
"Jasmine, honey. Can I come in?"
"Go away."
"Sweetie, let me help you."
"Fine." She opens the door and lets me in.
"What's wrong, love?"
"Well, I'm so scared to start high school and I'm scared that I might be bullied or something."
"Why would anyone bully you?" I ask, hugging her and stroking her hair.
"I don't know, but I'm really scared and nervous."
"Well, Jasmine. Lucky for you, I have some good advice."
I go into my writers room and bring out a copy of my book, How To Be A Bawse.
"What's this?" She asks as I hand her my book.
"Wait, you wrote this?"
"I did. In here you will find many things that will help you become the best version of yourself, aka a Bawse."
"Mom, this is so dope!"
"I know right! Now let me know if you need anything else. Oh, and two more things. One, here's a live of advice for you: We're gonna be ok, we're always ok! And two, clean your room, please."
"Thanks mom. And ok, I love you."
"I love you too, honey."
I close the door in her room and smile to myself, knowing that she'll get through this because the Sandoval women are strong. And we're in this together.
