Scott's p.o.v.
My eyes nervously move back and forth from Alex who had his arms crossed around his chest with a pissed off look in his face and a confused Mitch in the back, poor kid I had to drag him into this mess.
"I uh I can explain," I say wiping my sweaty palms on the black jeans I was wearing "oh please do," Alex says shooting daggers at me "Mitch is uh he's uh-"
"I'm one of Scott's colleagues," Mitch says chiming in saving me from any embarrassment of a lie I would have come up with on my own "and why are you here then?" Alex asked turning his attention over to Mitch
"Scott and I had agreed to meet up and talk about chaperoning the Junior trip that's coming up, right Scott?" Mitch says with a grin
Junior trip?
Mitch looks over at me with eyes that say just go with it
"Uh yeah they had asked me to chaperone but I didn't know much about the trip and since Mitch had gone plenty of times he was going to tell me about it and try talking me into it," I say practically stumbling over my words
"Is that so?" Alex asked with a stern look on his face "yes" I answer making sure there wasn't a trace of uncertainty in my voice
"I'm sorry I doubted you, babe," Alex says pulling me into a long hug a look at Mitch whose behind us he flipped me off and mouthed the words "fuck you asshole" to me
"Mitch I'm really sorry you had to witness that," Alex says pulling away from me and giving Mitch a sympathetic smile "oh don't worry about it," Mitch says with an obviously fake smile
"I should probably get going," Mitch says turning on his heel "wait were you going to talk to him about the trip?" Alex asked "yeah but we can do that another time Y'all clearly have some catching up to do," Mitch says looking directly at me I put my head down "goodnight Scott and it was nice meeting you Alex"
"Wait! Stop by tomorrow and we can have dinner and Y'all can talk about it the trip" Alex suggest I blink at him dumbfounded "uh I'll think about it, I'll let Scott know" Mitch answered
"Uh yeah sure," I say looking anywhere but at Mitch

My mind wouldn't stop replaying tonight's events. Why would Mitch say that? I would've for sure thought he would expose me
