Mitch's P.O.V.
"Thank you for tonight" Scott mumbled as he scrubbed a dish and handed it to me I only nod in response and put it in the washer "Why did you do it, Scott?" I asked leaning against the counter "do what?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows together in confusion making scoff in response "never mind" I say shaking my head he carefully placed a dish down in the sink and walked towards the hallway and peeked his head out the door probably to check where his boyfriend was.
"I did like you Mitch," he says one he came back I raised an eyebrow at him "Did?" his eyes widened "No I didn't mean it like that- shit it's just that my situation with Alex is a little complicated right now" he says running a hand through his perfectly styled hair
"complicated in what way?" I ask leaning against the counter with my arms crossed over my chest he sighed "things just haven't been the same" he mumbled "he travels a lot, he hardly calls it doesn't even feel like we're in a relationship anymore" he says with a sigh "I'm sorry" I say giving him a sympathetic smile
"that still doesn't justify why you played me, Scott, you made me look like an idiot and it caused me to lose a friend," I say "what friend?" He asked, "Adriel," I say starring down at the floor "that one Dominican kid right? Your ex-boyfriend?" He asked I lift my head and nod "yeah"
"what happened?" he asked I shrugged "I don't want to talk about it," I say running a hand through my hair "hey you guys," Alex says walking in causing me to jump away from Scott "Hey babe" Scott answers kissing his cheek "where were you?" He asked "I had to make a quick call," he says Scott nodded at his boyfriend I just stood watching them "so I actually have another trip and I leave in a week," Alex says Scott sighed "Again?" he asked Alex nods
"yeah but it won't be as long this time," he says hugging his boyfriend from behind Scott quickly pushes him away I squirm awkwardly not knowing what to do "what's wrong?" asked Alex giving his boyfriend a questioning look "can we talk about this later?" Scott says
"uh I should get going it's getting late," I say trying to get away from the situation "I'll walk you out" Scott quickly says "It was great seeing you again Mitch we should hang out again sometime," Alex says giving me a quick hug I nod "uh yeah sure" I say "bye Alex"
"come on," Scott says leading me towards the front door and down his apartment complex "see what I mean? He just got here and he's already leaving" he says with a sarcastic laugh "it's his job Scott," I say defending Alex
"Can we talk about this properly over dinner when Alex leaves again? Ill cook" He offers I sigh "I don't know Scott" I mumble chewing on the sleeve of my cardigan "Please? I want to talk about it without the fear of Alex hearing" He says "Alright yeah sure" I reply giving in to him he smiles "alright ill text you with more information okay?" I nod "Bye beautiful," he says kissing my cheek "bye," I say before getting into my car. What am I getting myself into?
