Bucky's flesh hand snaked its way around Y/n's waist, pulling her closer to his side. Contently she rested his head on his shoulder, nestling deeper into the couch. Mindlessly the man flipped through the television channels, looking for nothing in particular, just wanting an excuse to be with Y/n. Her h/c locks falling down his shoulder, and her soft e/c eyes looking up at him; all paired perfectly with a trusting smile. She wasn't afraid.

A knock sounded at the apartment door, interrupting the intimate moment.

Y/n put her hand on Bucky's thigh and sat up, "I'll get it."

Walking to the door she straightened out her clothes and with her fingers combed her hair back into place.

Her hand turned the cold silver knob, revealing none other than Tony Stark.

"Hey Stark, need anything or just dropping by?" Y/n said leaning into the door frame, hesitant to let Tony in on accounts of her 'guest'.

"Just wanted to check in on you, can I come in?" He asked.

"I uh- now's not really a good time, I'm a little busy." She stuttered.

"That's not suspicious at all!" He said sarcastically, "Just a few minutes."

She nodded, and moved; letting him in. Closing the door behind herself she silently hoped Tony would somehow not see Bucky.

As Y/n rounded the corner from the kitchen/front door into the living room, she saw Tony tense up.

"Hello, Bucky. What are you doing here this late?" Stark said, nearly gritting his teeth.

Bucky looked to Y/n, "Just visiting."

Tony turned to face Y/n, "Just visiting at 10pm at night? Y/n you know I told you I don't want you to hang out with-with him!"

"You're not my father Tony. I can be with whoever I choose." Y/n said crossing her arms, glaring at the Stark.

Bucky sat silently staring between the two.

Y/n softened her voice, "I've gotten to know Bucky really well, he's a good guy Tony. Please trust my judgement of character for once!"

"Y/n I'm only concerned for your safety, please just trust me on this." Tony reached out and grabbed her hand, "Please."

Jerking her hand back to her side Y/n peered angrily at Stark, "Just go Tony."

Tony made in-cohesive noises as he stared at Y/n in shock, "I-I,"

"I'd like to get back to my date night Tony, you've interrupted to insult my date, and now taking up our precious time. Goodbye, Stark." She said ushering him towards the door.

"I just care about you Y/n, I-I nearly raised you!"

"If you cared about me you'd stop treating me like a child." She said pushing him out into the apartment hallway.

"I'm sorry Tony, I love him." Y/n said simply.

Tony gaped at her, "You what?!"

Y/n closed the door and listened to him make frustrated noises on the other side for a few moments, before closing her eyes and sighing.

Two hands wrapped around her waist, turning her to face the culprit. Bucky pulled her into a tight hug, running his flesh hand through her hair.

"I love you too." He said, his deep voice rumbling through the room, sending vibrations through Y/n's rib-cage.

Flushed, she pulled away to look at him, "I'm so sorry you had to hear that Bucky."

He rubbed tiny circles into her lower back as he made eye contact, "I wouldn't trust me either, I understand. Really. It's fine."

A tear fell down Y/n's cheek, "I trust you."

He smiled, grabbing her hand Bucky led her back to the couch; "You know, Steve told me that Tony has been telling all the guys to stay away from you."

Y/n laughed, "Seriously?"

Bucky nodded, "He can't stand the thought of you growing up I guess."

Y/n collapsed into the couch, this time laying down and resting her head on Bucky's thigh. He rubbed her arm with one hand and flipped channels with the other.

"Well, I've been grown up for about five years now. He needs to get over it." Y/n said, frustrated.

"He'll come around, don't worry. Even if he doesn't, I'll be here."

Y/n smiled and closed her eyes.
