The year is 2072, and the Earth no longer belongs to the dominating race of humans. Instead the World has become plagued in Darkness; controlled by the one who calls himself ‘The Shadow Master,’ consuming any Shadow that belongs to a living human soul to the ‘Other Side.’
This all started in 2017, when a young girl by the name of Felicia Lehman ran out into her parent’s corn field in Drumheller, Alberta after a suspicious object fell from the skies above, crashing into the ground. Felicia was only six-teen, and being in the teen-stage of curious, she decided to approach the strange silver looking object, which she later described as a mirrored capsule. She looked closely into the mirrors, and saw a flash of what she described as almost being that of a camera, capturing a photograph of her. Blinding Felicia slightly for what seemed like minutes, she then ran back into her parent’s farm house, and ran smack into a wall.
Later that same evening Felicia’s parents Ed, and Martha arrived home to find Felicia knocked out cold, and her body covered in what both parents described as some sort of ‘grey matter.’
They immediately called 911, and Felicia was rushed to the Hospital for Sick Kids in Calgary, Alberta.
Felicia spent six days in the Hospital and underwent psychiatric evaluation based on her ‘hallucinating story,’ as the Doctors, and Nurses described. Many blood tests and skin-graphs were collected from Felicia, using careful methods by the attending physicians.
After all tests came back normal, with no explanation for the change of color to Felicia’s skin, the Doctors spoke with Felicia’s parents, and decided it was within the best interest of her well-being for her to be released, but be under careful observation by a team of medical professionals that would arrive later the same month from Toronto, Ontario.
After Felicia was released to the custody of her parents; Ed, her father searched the corn-field for the strange mirrored capsule Felicia described that fell from the skies above, but there was no trace of such a thing.
Two weeks later, the invasion started, and within days all of Southern and Northern Alberta was plagued; and with the quick movement of humans running, also came the fast movement of darkness spreading, with the hungry consumption of human shadow.
The World as we once knew it colored; became nothing more than a mere shade of grey.
Fortunate there are few of us humans left, and I am one of them. I still have my shadow, and I still have my life, and I plan on staying this way.
