Chapter Thirteen- Alaskan Resistance

I was not sure how well I could trust Michael holding the love of my within his grips, as the love of my life, was the object of his anger.

We have been flying for only ten minutes, and nor Michael or Nathanial have said one word to each other.  I was thinking we should not be focusing our energy on fighting right now, we all needed to brainstorm a plan in motion, for how we could convince this community Michael found to join us in the Resistance.

“Amanda, what you think will be an easy task, will prove to be a harder one than you can imagine,” Michael said.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“Well, put it this way.  These people who live in this community, have been permitted to exist, because they are a part of the Capital Community Communication.  They participate in the treaty like the rest of Canada does.”

“I do not understand Michael, you told me that Alaska was part of the United States of America, and that everyone was killed, accept for the Capital Communities that existed in the Provinces of Canada.”

“Yes, I did tell you that, but I also did not tell you about Alaska, because I did not know much about them.  But after reading Nathanial’s mind, it all makes sense now.”

“Why don’t you stay out of my mind,” Nathanial ordered.

“Ignore him Amanda, there is so much I have learned since I have been reading him.  His community new all about Alaska, and the rumors they could not be infected by the Dark Plague.”

“But I do not understand, how is that possible?”

“The Shadow Master was unable to infect the snow.”

“Alaska is the only place on Earth that snow still exists?”

“That is right Amanda.  Although at one time, there use to be snow that would fall in many of the different Canadian, and US cities.”

“I do not understand then.  If the snow use to fall in many different areas, why does it only exist in Alaska still?”

“Global Warming,” Michael replied.

“What is that?” I asked.

“Oh Amanda, if I got in to that topic, it would take far too much energy for me to explain, and I still do not think you would fully understand.”

“Oh,” I replied saddened.

“I am sorry, but I never read much about it, and to be honest, Nathanial never really cared to much about books to read anything when he was younger.  He was too busy participating in community Fices.”

I looked at Nathanial and was sick to my stomach.  How could he be happy about killing young boys within his community?

“Amanda please…” Nathanial begged.

“It is fine Nathanial, I do not think any less of you.  The way you were brought up to think of life as being the right way to live it, was just not the way I was brought up,” I replied.

“Do not worry Nathanial, you will never see the real way Amanda see’s you, but I am lucky enough too,” Michael grinned.

“Please Michael the fighting is enough already, we need to come up with a plan on how we can make these people listen to us.”

“Well Amanda, here is your big chance because we are here,” Michael said happily.

As Michael was slowly approaching the ground, I was worried that Nathanial was right, and someone would try to attack Michael.
