Chapter Seventeen- Edmonton Ruins

It was not long before we were just outside of Grasslands, we were also only a little under three hours away from the Capital Community of Edmonton.

Michael was sure everyone was killed a long time ago, when my grandfather left the Community Capital to look for others to find the color, but I was not so sure what we would find now, since we were going to be so close to Calgary, which in turn was extremely close to Drumheller, which is where my sister told me I could find and save her.

Nathanial was not convinced, he was sure it was a trap, but if it was a trap why would the Shadow Master not have already killed us all.  He would not let us get this far, thinking we could stop him.

“Amanda, I love you,” Nathanial whispered into my ear while pressing his cold lips to my cheek.

“I love you too Nathanial,” I replied, and pressed my lips against his.

“Would you to cut out the love crap, it is making me sick,” Michael complained.

“I did not think Vampires could get sick,” Nathanial smiled.

“Well we can.”

Nathanial pressed his lips against mine, and kissed me for a minute, before Michael started to slow the automobile down.

“Ok Nathanial, I think Michael has had enough.  Even if he is evil, I still do care about how he feels.”

“Why in the hell would you care about how he feels Amanda?  Look at how many people he has killed.”

“He is a Vampire, and it is the only way he can live,” I replied.

“Animals have blood to,” Nathanial said rudely.

“Yes but human blood lasts longer,” Michael snapped.

“Amanda it is getting hot in here, do you want me to open the car window?” Nathanial asked.

Before I could even answer Michael turned his head to Michael, “open the car window, and it will be your blood that I am drinking next.”

“Michael, please stop it,” I demanded.

Nathanial smiled and started licking my neck, and then planted a few tiny kisses along the napes of it, and Michael turned his eyes away from me.

“What is the matter Michael?” Nathanial asked.

“I need a break, Amanda, you should drive,” Michael ordered while pulling the car over.  He immediately got out, and flew away.

“I wonder what his problem was?” I asked.

‘Welcome to the city of Edmonton’ or as Michael would call it ‘Edmonton Ruins.’

“Wow this place looks deserted,” I said.

“Yes Amanda, I told you Edmonton was Consumed after your grandfather left.”

“I did not think the entire city was left in ruins.”

“After your grandfather left, it was announced by the Shadow Master, that everything burned.”

“What do you mean?  I thought you said they were Consumed.”

“Well, I sort of lied Amanda.  I did not want you to feel bad about your entire existence being because your grandfather left, and everyone burned to death because of him.”

I started to tear, it made me sick to my stomach to think that my grandfather was the reason this entire Capital Community was killed.

“Amanda, do not let what Michael is saying get to you,” Nathanial said.
