Chapter Nineteen- Drumheller
After taking almost a full day to convince Calgary to join the Resistance, we only ended up with ten of their Community members, to watch as we left their city the demons invade, and slowly start to kill those that were not fully infected with the Color Plague.
I was happy to have Michael at my side again, and knew that everything was exactly as it should be.
Nathanial was not over joyed by the return of Michael, but he was happy to have greater numbers to face the Shadow Master once we reached Drumheller.
“Amanda are you ready for this?” Michael asked.
“Yes, I am ready,” I replied.
“In less than five minutes we will be in the city of Drumheller,” Michael smiled.
“Yes, and we will either all die, or else all live,” Nathanial snapped.
“Could you be any more negative?” I asked Nathanial.
“No I cannot be,” Nathanial replied.
“Well if you did not want to come with us Nathanial, no one forced you to. You could have stayed in your community and been Consumed like the rest of them,” Michael replied harshly.
“Michael please, he is just scared,” I replied.
“I am not scared,” Nathanial laughed, but I could tell his voice was masking his fear.
And then, within what seemed less than five minutes, my eyes gazed upon the grey sign that was torn, with ‘heller,’ at the end of it.
“This is it,” Michael said abruptly, and then seconds passed and the road started to become infected with the Color Plague, and so did the rest of the grey that surrounded the car, there was nothing to stop us from passing.
“What are we looking for?” Nathanial asked.
“He will find us,” Michael replied.
“How can you be sure,” Nathanial replied.
“Because I can sense he already knows we are here.”
The ground started to break, and the fires raised from beneath the ground, and I could see it burning in Nathanial’s eyes as the fear finally started to set in.
“This is it,” Michael yelled out in excitement.”
Finally where the ground was breaking the Color Plague started to infect the grey, and closed the fire gaps, shutting out the powerful attempt made by the Shadow Master.
And a finally a small object shot out of the ground, and floated in the air, and started to expand itself. I could see my reflection in the object.
“It’s the Capsule,” Michael yelled.
“What is it doing?” I asked.
“Like I have a clue Amanda,” Michael replied.
“We need to get out of here,” Nathanial screamed.
