Chapter Fifteen- Northwest Left
It was two days since we left Whitehorse, and finally had enough room to take the entire community with us. Not everyone was happy about leaving, but they knew they had no other choice.
It was only a matter of time before the demons would make their way to Whitehorse, and try to kill us all, if they even could now that there was so many of us Color Plagued.
Michael left us to see if he could spot demon hunters, and said he would find his way back to us.
“Are you cold Amanda?” Nathanial asked while we were driving.
“I am a little, but more tired than cold.”
“I do not want you to get sick. Luke can you please close that window?” Nathanial asked.
“Nathanial, I would prefer not to, because the smell of gasoline will make my life partner gag. She is not use to the smell.”
“Well I will show you the same courtesy you are showing my life partner when I drive in just a few hours then,” Nathanial replied grinding his teeth together.
“It is ok Nathanial, I am not that cold. And besides we must consider how everyone is feeling, not just myself.”
“Where I am from Amanda, you do not back down from your opinion, or from another man.”
“Well thankfully where I am from, you back down because you know in the end fighting does not get you anywhere.”
“And this is what makes communities weak Amanda.”
“My community was anything but weak Nathanial.”
“Look, in the sky, there is Michael,” I heard Jean call out from the front seat.”
I looked out the automobile window, and saw Michael flying over us.
“Make room Nathanial, you know he is going to come to our automobile,” I said happily.
“Yes, of course Amanda,” Nathanial smiled.
I was not sure if his smile was a wicked one or that of someone who was actually happy to see Michael.
I carefully opened the door, as Michael flew to the side of the automobile I was sitting next to.
“Amanda, your skin is so cold. Luke do that window up now at once,” Michael demanded.
Jean looked at Luke, and he carefully glanced into Michaels cold eyes.
“Michael it is quite alright,” I replied.
“No Amanda, it is not alright. I think he was already asked to do his window up because you were cold. Let us see if the smell of death bothers his life partner more,” Michael snapped, and dug his fangs into Luke’s neck, drinking his blood.
“Michael stop…” I begged.
Michael continued to drink from him, and I could hear his heart slipping away.
“Michael, you are going to kill him,” I yelled in horror.
“Please, do not kill him, I love him,” Jean cried.
