Chapter Four- Other Side

Hours passed since the darkness covered the ground which was once grey, like the skies above, but was now plagued.  Michael and I continued to hide among the leafs in the tree, shading our shadows from being consumed by the Other Side.

What was this Other Side Michael speaks of?  I have never heard of it, and did not even ask Michael why his parents would not try to save him from being burned all  so his community would stay safe from being consumed by the darkness, plagued to be taken to the Other Side.

“What are you thinking about now Amanda?” Michael asked.

“How do you always no when I am thinking Michael?”

“Because you have a lost look on your face; the same one everyone has when they are trailing off in thought,” he smiled.

“I am just thinking about what you said about this Other Side,” I replied.

“What do you mean?  What about the Other Side?”

            “What is it?” I asked.

            “Are you serious?” Michael snapped.

            “Yes, I am.”

“I thought you knew all about it, because your community was taken by the Dark Plague.”

“I do not know what you are talking about Michael.  I never said they were taken to the Other Side.  The only thing I know is they all died, where killed by the Dark Plague, when the darkness consumed their Shadow from under their feet.”

“When the darkness consumed your community Amanda, they were all taken to the Other Side of Shadows.”

“What do you mean the Other Side of Shadows?”

“The place that exists between what is left of the real World; and what exists between the After-world.”

“I have never heard of an after-world.”

“I read all about it, in one of the books in my community,” Michael said swiftly.

            “What was this book called?”

            “The Bible.”

“What a weird name, why would anyone write a book, and name it something so ridiculous.”

“It is not as ridiculous as you think Amanda.  Actually the book was written by one of Gods servants long ago.”

            “God?”

            “Yes,” Michael replied.

            “Who is God?”

“God is the almighty creator Amanda.  The one; who created us all,” Michael smiled.

“Well I do not like God, I would have rather stayed not created, and the hell away from this world.”

“Amanda, God creates everyone for a purpose.”

“Yeah so we can all be consumed by the darkness.  What a great person this God is.”

            “God is not a person.”
