So this would be the effect of watching too many Destiel videos and then listening to The Cab's Angel with a Shotgun about 10 times in a row. It's short, but it's a lot, in my opinion.
~A few weeks later~
"Cass, don't lie to me. I know something's wrong" Dean pleaded. Castiel didn't want to lie to Dean any longer.
"There's an angel, in heaven. Her name is Naomi, and she wants be to stop associating with you and Sam. Dean, she wants to torture me for being with you."
Dean didn't have time to think, "I'm going to kill her."
"Dean, you can't! Please, just... don't!"
"Why not, Cass?"
"This is my fight, Dean."
"If you think you're doing this alone, you're wrong."
"I have to."
"Why? Why do you have to do this alone?" Dean could feel his eyes filling with tears and hear his voice cracking.
"I'm fighting for you, Dean. You're all I have now, and I need to keep you safe. I—I love you, Dean."
"Cass, please..." Castiel wiped away the tears that made their way onto Dean's cheek. "I love you, too." Dean felt Castiel wrap arms around him. He gratefully accepted the hug he was pulled into.
"I'll be okay, Dean, I promise", Castiel whispered.
"But, what if they take your grace away?"
"I'll be human, just like you." Castiel pulled out of the hug, but was still holding onto Dean.
"But you won't be you anymore."
"You would still love me of I was human?"
"Of course I would."
"Then we'll be fine."
Dean smiled a little, despite the tears flowing down his cheeks. He knew Cass was right. Human or Angel, he was Cass. "Please come home to me, no matter what", Dean said.
"Nothing will stop me from coming back to you."
Dean watched as he walked toward the motel door. He gave Dean one last look before walking outside. Dean's head fell into his hands. What had he done? Suddenly, the door opened again and Cass walked briskly toward him. Without a word, he pulled Dean into their first kiss together. Dean kissed him back desperately. Cass pulled away too soon for Dean.
"I just wanted to kiss you one time before this goes down", he explained before disappearing into thin air.
~In Heaven~
"Ah, Castiel. Are you ready?" Naomi asked.
"Yes", Castiel said confidently. He knew the pain he would undergo would be ghastly, but it was worth it for Dean.
~Back at the Motel~
Sam came back an hour after Castiel left. When he walked in, Dean was laying in bed, just staring into space. There were tear stains still on his face. Sam looked around, "No Cass?" he asked. Immediately, he knew it was the wrong question from the look on Dean's face.
Dean explained everything that happened with Cass and what Cass was planning. "So he kissed you, then left to fight for you?" Dean nodded. "He loves you, Dean, and he's willing to fight for it. He's just like you."
"What do you mean?" asked Dean.
"You both fight endlessly for what you love, and you both survive."
