Dean woke up and immediately noticed he and Cass were entangled with each other. For the first time ever, Cass was sleeping. Dean studied his face. The angel, or human, now, looked innocent— like nothing bad had ever happened to him. Dean smiled and softly kissed Cass, waking him up. The arms around Dean tightened for a second before Cass' eyes opened. "Mornin' Cass," Dean said quietly.

"I like sleeping," Cass observed as he buried his face in the crook of Dean's neck.

Dean smiled, "I know, but I'm hungry." As if on cue, Cass' stomach growled. "Looks like you are, too." Cass let go of Dean with a sigh. The hunter got up and out of bed. He walked over to the small motel kitchen and began making breakfast. The motel filled with the aroma of eggs and bacon, which also woke Sam up. Dean placed the food on the table once it was ready. There was the sound of feathers fluttering as Gabriel flashed into the room. Sam tried to hide the smile that appeared on his face when the angel came.

"This food is amazing," Cass exclaimed.

"So, Cass, did you decide if you want your grace back?" Gabriel inquired, sitting at the table next to Sam.

Cass shrugged, "I miss being an angel, but being human will allow me to spend the rest of my life with Dean. I could have more mornings just like this." Dean slid an arm around Cass, pulling him a little closer and kissing his forehead.

Later that day, Sam and Dean had a routine hunt. Dean had Cass stay back at the motel, and Gabriel offered to stay with him, just in case he needed something.

"Do you think they're okay?" Cass asked a few hours after the boys left.

"By 'they' I take it you mean Dean?" Gabriel teased.

"It would upset Dean if Sam was hurt," Cass pointed out.

Soon after, the door was fumbled open by Sam. Dean was leaning on him, obviously hurt. Cass jumped up and helped Sam lay Dean down. "What happened? How bad is it?" Cass asked.

"Demon threw me through a window in the house, and I landed on the cement porch. It's not that bad, Cass."

"Dean, you can't even walk, that's not 'that bad'?"

Dean sighed, "I've been through worse."

Cass tried to heal Dean, but remembered he was now human. That's when it hit him. As a human, he could live a perfect life with Dean, but wouldn't be able to have his angelic powers to protect him. "Gabriel, help me?" Cass asked. Gabriel came over to Dean's bed and healed him. Dean sighed as the pain was relieved from his body. "I think I want to be an angel again."

"Why?" Dean asked, generally curious.

"I don't have my healing powers anymore. I don't want you to stop hunting, you save so many lives. I just want to be there when you inevitably get hurt," Cass explained.

Dean smiled at Cass, "You'd do that for me?"

"Of course I would."
